September 12, 2014, what I thought would be a normal Friday. I got up to get dressed for my 1:00 p.m. appointment. I was 37 weeks and I could not wait to get my ultrasound done to see my beautiful little girl and to hear her fast paced heartbeat. It started out as a regular doctors' visit. As I was patiently waiting to be called to the back, all I could do was pace back and forth in anticipation because I was growing closer and closer to the end and all I wanted was to be dilated. Well 1:30 came around and I heard, "Ms. Ball," I said "yes that would be me" and walked what seemed like a long hallway. I was approached by the ultrasound tech and she wanted me to lay down and get prepared for my ultrasound. She looked at me and back to the screen like two times. I was laying there with tears in my eyes because I had not heard the heartbeat or seen the baby on the screen yet and it had been like 5 minutes. The technician looked at me and just walked out the room. I began to bust out in tears in fear of something happening to my child. The doctor walked into the room, looked at the screen and said, "Your baby will be delivered in the next hour or so by C-section. I continued to just cry in disbelief. I was rushed to the hospital and was welcomed by a team of nurses who proceeds to give me an IV. I was then taken the operating room where I was explained what was happening to me and the baby. I was told the amniotic fluid was critically low and very harmful to the baby. I was given a very long needle in my back that would go in my spine.
