Football has become America’s favorite sport. Everywhere across the country fans of all ages and backgrounds gather around their televisions on Monday night, Thursday night, and Sunday afternoon to watch the games. Fans ignore other sports to watch their favorite team play on prime time television. I am a huge football fan, knowing the stats (rec yards, touchdowns, etc.), some might even call me a football guru. Knowing the stats helps fans get involved in the game making the game more interactive for the fans. Yet even though I love to watch the sport that does not mean I enjoy every game. Also defense is one of the most important aspect of the game, and it is entertaining as well. To see the quarterback throw a deep pass down the field and have the safety come out of nowhere and intercept the ball for a pick six is such an exhilarating moment. I became interested and started to enjoy those things when I started playing the game myself. Beforehand, I didn’t appreciate the game or understand the level of skill it requires to make the plays seen on television. These athletes make spectacular plays look easy. One may take them for granted unless you play the game yourself. The 2009 Super Bowl was the Cardinals vs the Steelers. People everywhere were talking about this game, but was this really a game worth watching? Was this game going to be enjoyable? I was watching this game way back then and I remember it clearly to this day. This was a game destined to be great, with Arizona’s high flying offense and Pittsburgh’s number one ranked defense. It was a great game, meeting and exceeding all of my expectations. This Super Bowl will go down as one of the best including one of the most unbelievable finishes of all time.
