The Big Tournament When I was about 5 years old, I found my love for soccer. So, my dad teached me the basics of soccer. As a present for me turning 7 years old, my dad signed me up in a soccer club for kids, where the training was really hard, but a lot of fun. 3 months later, my teammates and I had our first real tournament (against other clubs). The final game in the tournament was awesome because guess what? We won! I always had a love for soccer, which I developed as a 5 year old kid. I practiced a lot because my goal was to be the best soccer player, and be in a real soccer league. My dad told me ”You need lots of practice and talent to get there. Let me first show you some basic skills”. He taught me how to properly pass a ball, shoot the ball, shoot a penalty, a corner kick, and so on. In order for us to win the tournament we had to win 4 of the 5 games. The first game was close but we won 3-2 with a last minute goal. We won the second game with ease 2-0, the third game I think was the hardest, we only got 1 goal in but luckily the other team didn’t score at all (1-0). After about a 15 minute break, we played the fourth game, where we lost 1-2 but still had confidence going into the final game. About 20 minutes later, the final game started, and Mike, Scott, Tom, Luke, and I were full in gear to win. It started of with the other team playing safe and passing it around trying to make us dizzy, but it didn’t work. Scott easily stole the ball and scored 1-0. The other team scored by the goalkeeper kicking high so we couldn’t get it and then a player on the other team kicked it right into the goal 1-1.
