Sometimes you’re too caught up in all the bad things in life to enjoy the good things. I’ve learned this the last winter when my friend jordan and I went on a snowboarding trip to the mountains. I hadn’t realized how stressful life was until this very weekend. I was violently awoken by the sound of my mom yelling, “get up you can’t make your friend wait any longer!” this was a typical morning but usually i would be getting up to go to school instead of the beautiful rocky mountains in Jasper National Park. After dragging myself out of bed to eat breakfast, I did my best to grab all the gear I would need to keep myself warm on this chilling december day. This made the drive slow and painful, I tried to sleep in the car but I was too excited for that. Five brutal hours driving on the terrifying road conditions we were there. When we arrived we could already tell all the parking lots were full because of the huge line of cars on the road to the top of the mountain. We had to park in possibly the worst place there is on the mountain, and to top it all off we had to walk about two kilometers to the top of the hill. We started to get all of our stuff out of the back and I found everything except for one thing… my gloves. That was it, the trip was ruined I thought to myself. Jordan made the suggestion to go look in the lost and found in the chalet but we still had the two kilometer grueling hike to the top of the mountain. I didn’t really have a choice so i shoved my hands into my pockets to keep them warm and my snowboard on my backpack and we started walking.
