In all ways I am a Pittsburgh sports fan. I am a die had Pittsburgh sports fan, whether it be Steelers, pirates, penguins, or Pitt panthers I ride or die with them. They affect my day if they win or lose, I grew up watching all of them as a kid and I am emotionally attached. Being a Pittsburgh sports fan definitely has its ups and downs. Like last year the wild card game for the pirates which I went to, we got shut down by the Cub’s pitcher and didn’t post one run the whole game. Or in 2010 when the Steelers made it all the way to the super bowl only to lose to the Green Bay Packers. The Steelers had a ball on the 20 yards line driving down and they lost. I really thought they were going to have another miracle win in the super bowl. In overtime Tim Tebow who did not play the whole year completed an 80 yard pass for the broncos to win a sudden death overtime playoff game vs the Steelers. The years from 2000-2010 was so hard to be a pirates fan. They were absolutely awful! The baseball they were playing was disturbing to watch but lucky for me they are one of the best teams in baseball now. Now onto the ups of being a Pittsburgh sports fan. In both 2008 the Steelers and Penguins both won a world championship. It was a great year to be a Pittsburgh sports fan, felt like I was on top of the world. It’s always nice when you get into an argument with someone about the NFL you can always bring up how the Steelers have the most rings or superbowls than anyone in the whole NFL. These past 4 years of being a Pirate fan has been amazing. I grew up watching some of the worst baseball ever. I feel like I deserve to watch good, quality baseball.
