MOUNTAIN MAN Earth is a very big planet, littered with many different locations on its surface, each one beautiful and interesting in its own right. There are hundreds of different places I would like to go in the world, but as of now I can only speak for the small few of them I have been lucky enough to see. Each one has been a great experience and something that I would never want to forget, but out of all the places that I have been to, only one really sticks out to me as my favorite: Colorado. During the summer of my seventh grade year, I went one an eight day long trip to Colorado with my grandparents and one of my cousins. While I have pictures to help keep the memories of going on the train ride and seeing the pueblos fresh, it is impossible for me to forget seeing the mountains for the first time. They were absolutely breathtaking, and the ones that I first saw were the Front Range. We drove in from Nebraska, and since the Front Range spreads downwards from the northernmost part of the state, they were the ones I saw first. Once we passed through them we arrived at the San Juan Mountains, which were what made me love Colorado so much. The San Juan Mountains are in southern Colorado, go higher than the Front Range, and have their sides covered in large forests instead of dusty earth. It is the forests that make them look so beautiful, and I was really excited when I learned that we would be staying in a lodge situated in the range. Each day I would wake up early to just look at the mountains, and each night I would walk around outside just to watch the sunset go down around them. In the midst of all of the other things we did on the trip, my grandparents had it arranged that my cousin and I could go horse riding up the mountains on one of the days. Once I
