What if a person were to learn that their perception of reality is wrong? Would that person defend their pride? Would they choose to accept the knowledge given? In Toni Cade Bambara's "The Lesson", a poverty-stricken girl is faced with the reality that she lives in a time where racial and economic inequalities exist. This short story tells how a young girl named Sylvia and her friends leave their neighborhood in the projects and take a field trip with an educated African American woman, Miss Moore, to a toy store in the rich part of the city.
It was a Saturday morning at 9:30. I was in my room packing my books to get ready to moved to our new house. My dad all of a sudden texted me pictures of 8 week old golden doodle puppies. I knew that he wanted one badly.

Throughout my whole life, my father has been an alcoholic. There have been times when he has tried to quit, but it never lasted for more than a few months. His addiction has brought on stressful times for my family. Some days we did not know where he was or if he was coming home. Although my father’s addiction might not have made the best childhood, he did show me the kind of person I did not want to be.
The book I got from my grandpa When I was like 7 my grandpa brought a book to me from his trip to detroit. It was a book about cars. It was like my favorite book for a long time because I liked cars a lot when I was growing up. The book was about a bunch of different chevrolet cars and who made them and designed them and stuff like that. Thats why I was so interested in the book.
Dad stayed in the hospital for over a week by the time he came home, he had put over 70 Ivs in his arms. Dad was nervous to go to his appointment the next week because he didn’t want to stay there again. It was harsh that year he sleepwalked out in the cold to go to town but couldn’t find the keys. Mom told everyone to get up and help find dad, so I looked outside and when I looked in the car there he was sleeping in the driver seat. With the doctor bills and all of the other stuff we are kind of broke.
Thirty years ago, I witnessed a micro-aggression by my grandma Correll. One of my friends had her hands full when we got off the bus so I offered to help. She lived on the same street as my grandma. My friend Tara was of Italian descent.
When it was my 7th birthday my mom and dad decided to get me a dog. I was so excited but the day we had to get her I became sick. Second, we had to drive 10 hours to get her. That stunk because we had to keep stopping to take the medicine the doctor gave my mom.
My dad served in the United States Navy for 24 years. In the spring of 2009, my dad was deployed to Afghanistan. To be specific, he left on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 5:00 in the morning. I woke up that morning, dreading what was about to happen. My dad had been with me all my life, to think that in a few short hours that my dad would be on a bus to the airport was heartbreaking.
Bella After almost a year since losing our Chihuahua Precious and our Rottweiler Gracie, my parents surprisingly decided to look into getting a new puppy. My mom researched and wanted to get a Boxer and my dad wanted to get a German shorthaired pointer. My mom looked and looked on Craigslist for both. The only one’s she could finder were Boxers. My mom found a brindle girl boxer in Denver and was ready to drive there to get her.

After many obstacles I finally obtain my driving licence. My first appointment day was a friday morning of January. I remember I did wake up late and I took a shower really fast. When I get out of the shower my mom told me to eat something but i could not because I did not have enough time. I remember that I had to run to take the first bus.
The car ride was extremely long and frustrating that we could not get to Omaha, Nebraska any sooner. Our destination proved horrendous for parking. We had to search for miles to find a spot. I was stiff and sore getting out of the car, looking around I couldn’t even see the stadium!
Back in 8th Grade, there is a car contest in my physics class. Which is to built a car that uses the balloon as the engine, and see who’s car can travel farthest distance. Like usual, I am so excited when I heard the contest, I want to win! Once I heard the contest, i begin to draw all my ideas I had to build the car. My first idea is to use big plastic plates to build the wheels.
My First Car The first I ever had was an old model of the brand Toyota. It was color blue and was second-hand so I got it at a cheaper price. For a second-hand car, it was in a really good condition.
