Personal Narrative: Growing Up In The Old Testament

When I was a young man growing up in Wilmington, N.C. we got up on Sunday morning early to go to church. My grandmother was one of the founders of the church but we would attend Sunday school and then church would begin. As we sat through the sermons the preacher would say “let us turn to the book of Genesis in The Old Testament.” Now I could follow along with the text as the Preacher was explaining it. When we are taught the sermon the ministers tend to jump around from text to text, instead of focusing on one pacific section. As I grew older I began to understand little more about the bible, although I am not well versed with all the different books I do have some knowledge.
