We all have connected at different points in my life, and by far, this is the most exciting time for me that I’ve had in a very long time.

Slowly, dreadfully, I tried to buy time by making a scene on the my first day of kindergarten. For 30 minutes, I grabbed onto my mom’s blouse until the teacher separated us; the action that created a barrier between society and me. Usually, my days preceded with sleeping in, and then spending the rest of it at my grandparents’ house, instead I was now glued to a chair, where everyone was watching me with judgemental eyes. As my American teacher introduced me to the class, I felt everyone’s eyes upon me; I knew minimal English because the main language spoken at home was vietnamese and my preschool consisted of chinese speaking teachers.
Dating is a normal thing in society now. You date someone and you either end up breaking up with him or her or end up spending the rest of your life with him or her. You create a bond between someone and that bond is either positive or negative. To understand why people date other people, social groups are observed. They are observed by theories.
Everyone has a story and a place where it all began. My story began in New Brunswick, New Jersey shortly after my second birthday. When I was two years old my parents finalized their divorce. This ignited a series of events that would teach me to be the independent, compassionate, and resilient young woman I am today.
The music. There I was seeing my favorite artists in person. There they were in front of me. Here I am where I belong. Back in May I was able to snatch a couple of tickets to the annual KCON, Which held a 2 night concert.
For as long as I can remember I have loved reading. Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, it doesn’t really matter to me. I remember my mom trying to teach me how to read when I was three. I started off reading small Dr. Suess books and then it was on to newspapers and chapter books. One of my all-time favorite books when I was a kid was Junie B. Jones.
In seventh grade I had my first “boyfriend”; it was the typical middle school relationship. I remember telling my parents at the time that it was not a big deal; I said something along the lines of “it’s middle school, this doesn’t mean anything”. We lasted almost a year and when we broke up it was like nothing happened expect it was a little odd seeing him with other females, but we were still friends for some time. I noticed that I was one of the few girls at that age who weren’t who knew that relationships then do not mean much. When it came to boys I had an “eh” attitude, while many girls got attached and when they broke up they were a little too sad.
Not having a dad in my life made dating even more hard. I felt that I didn’t know what type of boy I should be dating. My mom didn’t talk to me about sex so I never understood how that work. I remember having sex education classes in 9th grade and that is where I learned about sex and dating. When I went off to college, I remember guys wanted to date me
Right through the 20th century, dating has changed drastically since its inception. Being single in the society is a big deal for people nowadays.
