The game is well known for hitting and fielding, but there is more to it than that. The game is very fun and exciting, when you hit the ball the fans in the stands will go wild and scream(Drew, Davidson). The game starts in America when you are really young, you usually start around 5 to 7 and progresses from there.
Baseball games are often won or lost based on a team's ability to execute a variety of different plays, including bunts, steals, and hit-and-run situations. Additionally, baseball players must be able to read and react to a variety of different pitches, including curveballs, sliders, and knuckleballs, all of which require a high degree of skill and experience to hit. In contrast, softball has a more limited range of pitches, and the game tends to focus more on power hitting and speed. Thirdly, baseball players are exposed to a higher risk of injury than softball players.
As I stepped out of the car door to head onto the field I could smell the freshly mowed grass and hear the birds chirp. Saturday, August 15, 2015 we had our first softball game of the year. Starting our morning off, everyone met at the softball field to eat breakfast. Our coach, Jacob Kid, had us take a round of batting practice before we left to take on Hamilton. On our way to the game, I felt as if I was going to get throw up. Coach Kidd is an awful driver.
It had been a long day at the softball field and everyone on my team was exhausted. We had won every game that we had played that day. We had made it to the championship and we're ready to win. I was the pitcher so I had an important duty, to pitch as best as I could.
Did your parent(s) make you ever do a sport you seemed like you had no interest in doing at all? Well that happened to me. I never planned on playing softball until I was 9 and my dad signed me up for softball. Before softball I did cheer which I was really loved cheer and I didn’t like that my dad was making me give it up.

Being involved in sports teaches vital life lessons that will promote you to overcome challenges you endure in everyday life. The passion and leadership required in the sport of softball reflect the qualities to be successful in my education. My life-long experiences in softball have helped me develop into the person I am today in pursuing my academic career. Through my background of being highly committed to the game, taking on leadership roles and balancing academics with athletics it has prepared me for college. Softball is very meaningful to me and is one of my main commitments.
We then watch carefully the opposing team’s pitcher as she warms up. As a lead off hitter, it is my job to do anything possible to get on base. By working the count I am frisking with the pitcher to get into her head. I then get exactly what I want, a pitch that could change the outcome of the entire game. Once I take a swing at the perfect pitch you can hear the crack of the bat forcefully pushing the ball to get a base hit.
For the last eight years, softball has shaped my life and taught me many things about leadership, sportsmanship, and how to work as a team. Softball has always made me happy, it’s not just the sport that makes me happy, but it’s the place that I get to go and the people that I get to play it with. Every time I’m on the field or in the cages I feel the most content. The softball field and cages are my sanctuary.
National or local parks are great places to play. You can do just about anything at the park including softball. Playing softball is an amazing way to get in shape and have fun all at the same time. Softball is a great sport to keep you active, and healthy. It can be complicated sometimes, but that’s a great way to get your head in the game.
Over the years I’ve gotten stronger, faster, and overall better at softball. Four years into it and I have some great and some painful stories. I’ve learned many things about softball, but one that has stuck out to me and that also applies to life is that it can be fun.
