Personal Narrative: I Clean Rooms In A Hispanic Home

101 Words1 Pages
I was brainwashed as a kid! In a Hispanic home we are taught at young age that a woman belongs in the kitchen and doing household duties. This prepares us for marriage and longetivity within our relationship.
I began to clean at age 5 and no, I don’t mean just picking up your toys. I mean-- cleaning, sweeping, dishes and laundry, by age 9 I was cooking dinner and cleaning bathrooms. This started a obessicion to keep things in order as an adult. I clean, because I DON’T LIKE THINGS OUT OF ORDER. I clean, for satisifaction. It’s an obsession (OCD).
