I went to my local Dollar Tree to make a menu for a family of four people. It was a little challenging to do so. My local Dollar Tree, which is located in Camden, Arkansas, do not have a frozen section like many other Dollar Tree stores. The Dollar Tree stores that has the frozen section has way more food selection then the Dollar Tree stores that do not. The frozen section different meats selection and a variation of breakfast foods.
Throughout part I of Fast Food Nation, Eric Schlosser writes about the ins and outs of the fast food industry. From the founding fathers to the dirty little secrets that fast food corporations would never want us to know, he reveals it all. As corporations look for every opportunity to cut costs and increase profits, we start to reexamine what type of behavior governs businesses in America. As the days of traditional ‘sit down restaurants’ dominating the market quickly disappeared, large corporations are making use of new machinery and money saving business strategies. The drawback to these business tactics is that the burden lies on another individual.

As I look at this picture, it makes me think about the time I took responsibility for my little cousins. This picture was taken the day I took cousins to Chuck E Cheeses for the first time. My family lives in Oregon, but my extended family lives in California, all around the Bay Area that’s where my family is from there too. While I like Oregon, I try to find any excuse to visit California. So two years ago during spring break, my sister and I decided to go to California.
The book, Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, is about “The Dark Side of the All-American Meal”. Fast food in America is not as good as it seems. Most customers don’t know that by eating this food, they are putting their health at a serious risk. You only see the good side of things, but never the bad. Fast food chains are now in control.
My journey with Chick-fil-A began when I was 16 years of age. Even as a teenager, I understood the value of a dollar thanks to my parent’s direction. I wanted to have the freedom of driving my first car and beginning my financial future. As soon as construction began on Reynolds Road FSR, I recognized I wanted to work there. I completed my application online and delivered it to the trailer marked “Now Hiring” in the parking lot.
Meet my Jazz band. This is a picture of us in New Orleans my junior year during spring break to play Jazz. I decided upon this picture because this band has had such a profound impact on how I frame my future. My connection with music through the piano has been fostered ever since I could reach those shiny black and white collection of keys. Starting at the age of four, playing the classical music of Mozart and Bach was what my musical background was founded upon, with tangible medals and accomplishments as achievements.
I spent my days after the incident gazing at the sunsets. For ear I could see Johnny’s smile within the clouds. Darry wanted to host a funeral for Johnny and Dally. To be honest, I was troubled about this. I couldn’t bare the fact I might have to have to go through this again.
In contrast, Alan Jenkins, in a more didactic and informative style, goes a step further by showing that Dr. Loury 's well-intended position only helps perpetuate racial discrimination and inequality. Using logos as his strong rhetorical foundation and to support his viewpoint, Jenkins cites a research done in the cities of Boston and Chicago where candidates, with the same job qualifications, but with more black-sounding names, received fewer calls than their white counterparts. Unlike Dr. Loury, who sees race distinctions as a tool to eradicate racial inequality, Jenkins explains that race is only important if one wants to understand the problem and create solutions to end racial discrimination and inequality. To that point, Jenkins (2013)
Food safety is getting $100,00 dollar because the foods is in a bad condition, Employees are peeing and pooping near the food. [Document D] There would be meant that had tumbled out on the floor, in the dirt and sawdust, where workers had tramped and spit. After i was done literally smelling the air i walked down stairs and sat down in my usually chair and my wife sat a plate full of delish looking pancakes in front of me i quickly gobbled 3 big pancakes before opening the store front. Ehrenreich mentions “The regulation poster in the single unisex rest room admonishes us to wash our hands thoroughly,” in her essay; However, there is almost no one following the instruction because “there is always some vital substance missing—soap, paper towels, toilet paper”. Although workers may want to follow the instructions, it is impossible for them to do so because they “never found all three at once ”. The effect of describing the deficient rest room is to highlight the fact that the owner of the restaurant is so stingy to the workers that the owner refuses to provide enough substance. Thus, the readers can better understand the terrible environment that the workers live in. In short, with mention the dreadful environment of the kitchen and the rest room, the audiences are able to know that lower workers work in a grubby environment and how they have been treated by the upper class.
Charles Darwin, an English naturalist and geologist, is best known for his works on the “theory of evolution by natural selection.” He was born on February 12, 1809 in Shrewsbury, England to Robert and Susannah Darwin. Growing up, he was quiet and liked to be alone, often irritated and depressed about everything. Charles Darwin would often go on walks, collecting whatever interested him, one of his favorite hobbies, a useful skill he would later use in his research. As he grew up, he began to find interest in watching birds and hunting.
