Personal Narrative: Keep Austin Weird

When people ask me where I am from, the response will always stay the same, “Austin, Texas.” However, when you look at my records you will see I was born in Chesapeake, Virginia and later graduate high school from New Kent in Virginia. There is a large discrepancy between Austin, Texas, and New Kent, Virginia, so one may be intrigued or coaxed into asking why I claim Austin, Texas. When I was three I moved to a minute city on the edge of Austin, where I matured in that town, until I was seventeen. Moving to New Kent County a week before the school year started when I would soon turn eighteen. Therefore, for the better part of the last fifteen years I was raised, and developed into the young man. It offers a vibrant plethora of culture that the world is running full sprint to arrive and experience. One common catchphrase is ‘Keep Austin Weird’ there are several different notions through this that have influenced me. Such as, no matter who you are, you have to embrace it, know what you like and do it, ignore what others may think, if you have a dream chase it.
