Personal Narrative: Knights Of The Old Republic

Knights of the Old Republic is one of my favourite games of all times. I can still remember the day I stumbled upon an Xbox magazine in a local shop and saw the game title and a picture of Malak and Bastila. I had been bored of Star Wars plots that revolve around Skywalkers; I was always vocal with friends and family about wanting a different plot. Knights of the Old Republic was a surprise that reawakened interest in the galaxy far far away: not only in terms of storytelling freshness but the way of exploring Star Wars. I've always wanted to belong in the Star Wars universe, being able to go through alien worlds with a group of powerful warriors was equivalent to a Rugrats adventure for me as a teenager.

High Charisma improves Revan's persuasion skills in conversation. No other character can fill this vital role. Revan levels up faster than his companions. When Revan falls in battle he can be revived by Bastila, Juhani or Jolee but it's better to make sure he's always the last one standing: the Constitution attribute increases the health bar. Many attribute points are devoted to combat that Revan is left with deficits in lesser attributes. Other characters can play supporting roles, Zalbaar is ideal for training extremely high Strength and Constitution teamed with Mission's extremely high Intelligence and Dexterity. Mission's attribute points allows her to specialise in Computer Use, Demolition, Stealth and Repair skills. Attribute and skill points are distributed in such a way that playthrough most worlds. Gameplay can be paused at any time. I can switch to Mission with whom I can scout in stealth mode thus avoiding enemies, pick up mines which Zalbaar and even Revan would trigger and hack into computers. During combat it's usually always a random cycle of wave, lightning storm, death field and insanity.
