I’m a dog lover. I always have been and always will be. The cats are fine, but what really gets me is a wet slobbery kiss from a playful puppy. Here is my story of loss, love, and Loomis.
My family and I live in a cute, two story, blueish, greyish house. We have a large front yard and a silver Honda parked out front. In the depths of our two car garage, we have an old white mini van, dubbed White Shadow. Our house is nicely furnished with couches and chairs, a kitchen, a couple bathrooms, and a dining room. We had all the normal stuff, but we were missing one thing. A DOG!

He could already sit and stay. He could easily lay down and let you rub his tummy. You tell that my family was drawn to him.
When we finished we decided that the best thing to do was to take him on a walk and see if he fit our family lifestyle. This was the deciding factor. If he can't use a leash he wouldn’t be a good fit.
So we left with Roby in hand for a nice, short family walk. He did great. Yes, he tugged to sniff that pole and chase that insect, but he was very polite and didn’t go after the bunny that crossed our path. He followed us faithfully up the hill and back down to the shelter.
“So what is your decision, Dad?” we asked (He was the one paying for him so it was his job to decide if we got him or not).
“I think we should go for it”, he concluded, “Yes, let’s do it.”
“Wahoo!” we all cheered as we walked back into shelter.
As dad went off to pay for the dog and his shots we sat down on a bench to discuss names.
“well, what will it be?” I asked my mom.
“You know, your father and I have a movie we enjoy, and one of the characters in it is named ‘Loomis’. I also have always loved the name, Miles. So what do you think? Loomis Miles Kellum?” She
