Officers are problem solvers, lifesavers and help people within their neighborhoods. After having served my country, I would like to help and serve the community and city in which I live. Setting the example and being a role model for the adolescents in our society is something that means a lot to me. Never giving up on them, in the same manner that the role models in my career never gave up on
Throughout high school, I have been involved in a great number of activities. These include athletics, clubs, and taking part in community service. I have played varsity field hockey my freshman, sophomore, and senior year of high school. I also played varsity lacrosse my freshman and sophomore year. The sport that I am most well known for is swimming, which I have participated in for all four years of high school.
I just called the Pro Shop, and reserved the 8:50 tee time for Tuesday, October 13th. The Men 's Club has taken all tee times from 9:00 until 9:40 that day. Carol and Sandi e-mailed that they wanted to play closer to 9:00, so I hope that 's not too early for you. Let me know if your plans change. Otherwise, I 'll check us in and then meet you in the parking lot prior to our tee time.
At my high school, the Beta Club is the most elite, respected, and prestigious club. It is filled with the leaders, the doers, the hard-working, and the individuals who turn their dreams into reality. It is not for everyone, and in our ever-changing society, that is clear. Most people today do not like to rise up to the ever-growing challenge of leadership. It takes a certain kind of person to be a good leader, and the Beta Club has greatly helped me in doing so.
Throughout my four years of high school, I have kept myself occupied by participating in three student organizations that has developed me into a helpful and prestigious individual. My participation in the Alexander High School UIL Academic team taught me the lesson of hard work pays off. I took the opportunity to join my high school's UIL current events and social studies team which allowed me to compete against others based on my knowledge of the topic. By competing, UIL has educated me that in order to succeed, you must be willing to make sacrifices and dedicate your time towards studying in order to earn a medal or a ribbon. Thankfully, I got to place in many invitational events.
While attending Avon High School I was very active in participating in many different clubs offered. I spent much of my time being a member of Business Professionals of America. I held different offices one being Vice President. While involved I competed at the state level for three years in varying events. I also was recognized for my level of volunteer work in my community at the national level.
In my four years of high school, I have been very active in everything the school has to offer. I have filled up my after school hours playing sports, performing in plays and choral concerts, and working at the school to help teach the younger generations Language Arts. During my summers, I volunteer at summer school to assist in the math classes for middle school and high schoolers while I also have a job being a lifeguard. Basketball, softball, and golf are the sports that I’ve played over my high school career. I’ve participated in four years of basketball and softball, and three years in golf.
I have played volleyball for six years now. Our volleyball season can revenue three months longer. This past season I was on the junior varsity team. In the upcoming season I will be playing on the varsity team. These teams prepare myself for my future because they help me learn how to collaborate with others.
According to Starbucks baristas, I am Maya, Maura, or Mia, but to those who know me I am Moya. I was born in Ireland at a time when my parents had no plans to move to America, but two years later my father’s job had us living in a small town just outside of Boston. Though Moya is a common name in Ireland, it is not so common here in the US. Here I am given other names that are similar but not quite right, names which connect me to cultures that are not mine. Maya is Indian.

Using a favorite quotation from an essay or book you have read in the last three years as a starting point, tell us about an event or experience that helped you define one of your values or changed how you approach the world. Please write the quotation, title and author at the beginning of your essay. “It 's not a big thing, but I guess it 's true — big things are often just small things that are noticed.” ― Markus Zusak, I Am the Messenger I don’t know his name.
I am actively involved in many teams and activities at my high school including the Speech and Debate team, Drama club, Peer Mentoring for disabled students, Honor Society, playing cello
“So often, in our quest to be more popular and t be part of the “in-group,” we lose sight of the things that are far more important…” This means that we focus more on trying to be apart of the “cool kids,” that we block out the things that are more important in life. The quote is succinct to me because right now, in middle school, I want to be a part of a highly honored group than I do my work. I would like to be known as the person who is always doing the right things and still have time to entertain people who compliment me. In the process, I found out that my grades were dropping, and didn’t know why.
As I approached the doorway to my home I was barely holding on to myself by a thread and time felt as though it had stood stagnant. I was trying to walk through the door without completely losing myself to tears and misery because once I let go I couldn’t see the other side of the road; I couldn’t even drag myself down the road to find a path to some kind of happiness. In this moment so much going was through my mind, a lot of questions with no answers, and I felt worried, confused, scared, stressed, and I hated myself because I thought what happened was all my fault. All I wanted was to run into my boyfriend, Ben’s arms for comfort, and he’d probably say, “It’s okay, everything will be okay,”
This is a story about why I join the MUN club. When I entered the high school, I had not idea what MUN is, but my friend deceived me by saying that the MUN club is a "movie club" watching all kinds of movie about U.N. And it was stupid of me to believe such nonsense. That 's why I participate MUN club now. However, even though I was cheated, the MUN happens to be one of my
