Counselor met with Pt. for an arranged individual session. Counselor greeted Pt. and encouraged him to discuss his last tx plan, which he did. Pt. informed this writer that his last day in the program will be Wednesday, 3/23/17.

Dakevious- (10:55-11:45) Mom Only Therapist met with individual mother to discuss Individual Annual Review. Mom states individual loses his temper with his teacher sometimes.
Good Afternoon Dr. Esper & Dr. Khan, I am working with Sarah and Amy to help establish the EP12 Neurology Resident clinic. If possible, I would like to set up a meeting with Sarah, Greg and Jaffar to discuss key operational metrics and logistical needs for the clinic. Would everyone be available to meet on Tuesday, Dec 29th or Wednesday, Dec 30th? With the holidays, it might be difficult to coordinate a 60min meeting. If the 29th or 30th does not work, is there a day/time that could work the week of the Jan 4th?

Journal Entry Today we started off busy during the morning. We had open hand clinic which included pts walking in and getting fitting for orthotics. While the OT was doing that I lead all clients’ activities!
Lauren Brooksby is Resident Assistant for 2nd floor New Heritage building 29. Not only is she a beautiful person inside out but she is also a great RA- someone that us residents greatly respect and love.
“We all know why we are here”. This new “therapist” was my last resort. I wasn’t proud to admit it. Who would be? Some things are easier to admit than others, and admitting that my stubborn self was wrong in an argument was far easier than admitting that I needed help.
The woman that I had choose to interview is a Teacher, a mentor to many students, and a dear friend of mine. Her name is Andrea Micallef. She would say that she a Graphic Designer that came from Industry, not “Academia.” She used to freelance by doing Identity/Branding for companies (designed The Guitar Center logo) and taught at Universities. But she left all of that to teach at El Camino College (ECC) and is a volunteer for “Meals on Wheels.”
I attended my first twelve step meeting on March 5th. I decided to go to this one because it was an open meeting, in a good location, and on a Sunday. I figured the crowd would be bigger on a Sunday because people wouldn’t be busy with work. The meeting was located at 511 Melrose Avenue, right across the street from Slater Hall. I left my sorority house around 9:00 a.m.
The Interventions The first part of my intervention with Ms. Carter was to increase the amount of times that I visited her home a month. I decided to do this so that I could add to the rapport that Ms. Carter and I had already established, as well as, maintain the rapport that we had previously built. Furthermore, by increasing my presence in the home each month, I created time to implement certain attachment based interventions with Ms. Carter. In addition, it was my hope that through increasing my presence in the home I would be able to use our client-worker relationship to establish a secure base from which Ms. Carter could feel safe to explore the difficulties that came along with parenting eight children and coping with her sister being incarcerated without fear that I would only respond to her in her most agonizing moments.
Trying to find a site that deals with can be overwhelming however with hard work and some luck sometimes the visit to a rehabilitation site to reveal some thought-provoking insights. For this assignment we had to visit at least one psychiatric rehabilitation location to gather some useful information and understandings. However to my surprise I not only visit two different psychiatric rehabilitation location but I had the honor to interview some very surprising individuals. Therefore as I completed my first visit to a psychiatric rehabilitation location it not only became one of the most motivating and depressing visits I have ever done.
Joseph is a 48 year old Latino male who comes into therapy at the suggestion of his wife. He tells you, “I can’t seem to get out of bed in the morning and I don’t see why I should have to”. Joseph has just been laid off from his job of 25 years as an architect. He hurt his back during a fishing trip, and, as a result, had missed a significant amount of work. He tells you “in spite of my excruciating pain, I showed up to work daily and they kept sending me home.
Over the course of my life, I have had my own experiences with psychological disorders that I never completely understood. Chapter 14 titled Psychological Disorders, covers the range of mental illnesses from the causes, treatments, to the differences between them. In my personal life, I have a long history of being around those affected by mental illness. These people range from my parents to my first roommate in college and myself, and through this chapter, I 've found a better understanding of these psychological disorders. The first of the psychological disorders I’ve come in contact with is bipolar disorder.
As I was searching for colleges my mom and I were talking because I had known that I wanted to go a little further for school because I need some place to transition for myself. The places I had chosen scared my mom because she would hear on the news that something bad had happened to a transgender person in that state. So I was having a really hard time finding a school. So what I decided to do some research into schools that are LBTGQI+ friendly which and I come upon UW Milwaukee while I was searching.
1. What are your goals for the day? (Address health assessment, psychomotor skills, and communication techniques/phases) Coming into the fourth clinical day, I retain three goals: Safely and accurately checking blood glucose with insulin administration, gaining resident trust through demonstrating my desire to assist, and distinguishing how perfusion implements into resident care. Vast arrays of residents on station four require blood glucose checks and insulin administration prior to meals, and I would like to use this week as an opportunity to enhance my confidence in this skill. Through insulin safety and patient encounters, I desire to gain trust with the residents, as many of the residents have refused care from nursing students.
