Personal Narrative: Moving To Oregon

Well the crops weren’t as good this season, but then again, I never had time for my crops. It’s been a really sad year because first my newborn baby die from the flu. Then my beautiful wife got the flu and I couldn’t do anything thing for her and she died too. So it’s hard for me to move to Oregon but I think it’s what my wife would have wanted. Maybe I can make a lot of money from farming in Oregon. I think I have the way I’m going figured out I’m bring my farm wagon full of food and tool. But I’ve heard that there are pigs all ready cooked, run around and that If you are over 16 years of age you get the land for free. So it's a good things that i am 23 and have plenty of energy left in me.Well I finally left my house to independence and oh boy was it crazy. It was bad there were cow and chickens running everywhere and there was families running after them. But now we have a pretty good idea of how all the other rivers will be. We have traveled 166 miles to alcove springs. I found that one of my best friends from back home is Kentucky me and him were best friends I wish I would have known he was going. I would have traveled with him and I’m just happy that he has made it this long. Well we finally made it to Fort Kearny and I had to buy a little bit more gun powder to get more food for the wagon train. Well I crossed one of the hardest rivers on this trip so far it was the Platte River. And of course, my wagon train is all about saving money so we have to go through to the hardest river in are wagons and take all of our animals through the river. And we had to swim all of are livestock to the other side and I lost one of my cows down the river. We stopped in Ash Hollow for a good night's rest and we set up camp there on a nice flat piece of grassy
