Personal Narrative: Moving To Stanford University

“Gabriella was accepted to Stanford University”.When I used to live in Guatemala ,I dreamed to be like Gabriella from “High School Musical 3”,because she reached her goals.I knew that my dream of getting into a competitive University it was just a dream because to make it true, I had to move to the U.S ,learn english and save money because my parents don 't even have money for buy me an ice cream.However,my life changed the day my parents told me that they requested eleven year ago for the U.S permanent residence.I was jumping because I knew I will make history.

When my feet touched the U.S soil, I pitched myself to see if I was dreaming,but for my parents became a nightmare.We came to Garland Texas to live with my cousin.Then my dad accused my mom to cheat on him.Therefore,my dad decided to return to Guatemala.One year later,we went to New Jersey .but then gain we end up returning to Guatemala because we didn’t found a place to live. …show more content…

Then ,two year later,we return to Garland.So, my uncle borrowed us a small room.On my first day of Middle School,the counselor enrolled me in a (ESL) English as a Second Language program.I never thought that going to school will became my biggest challenge since, my ESL teacher didn’t on believed in me..One day I asked my friend how to say newspaper in english ,and she told me “periodic”.When I presented my poster ,I said “ the news in the periodic”,then my teacher told me “it’s newspaper’.Immediately,the counselor put me in newcomer classes.On eighth grade I went to regulars classes.During my freshman I didn 't qualify for bus transportation anymore .Therefore,my dad had to take me an hour before school starts and two hours after school.Due to that, my dad lost his job because he was arrived
