I felt a cold breeze throughout the house like I was in a field out in the wind. I got up and my father was still here he told me to go out and get the garbage. I went and did that my drive way was really long so it took me about a minute to get it to the curb. On my way back I heard a scream like I had never heard before. The sound hit me like a bullet.
The buzzer going off, the crowd cheering, for the first time in school history, Trinty Clinton Township are state chapions. That team made history, acheiving far more than what any spartan was thought possible, but this team accomplished far more than a state championship. There has been Trinity greats that have made a mark in the Trinity basketball program history. I knew, this being my last year at trinity, that I had had mighty big shoes to fill if I also wanted to make a perminet mark at trinity. "The differance between successful people and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will"- Vince Lambardi.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. So the coach said “go” me and my partner which was Robert.
I can remember the game so clearly, it was during the second quarter of the J.V. basketball game and I had just gotten the rebound and passed it out to Kelsie. Next thing I know a player from the opposing team came up right beside me and hit me in the side, I feel a big pop and hear a loud crack. I’m in excruciating pain, but I push through it and keep on playing because it 's my last quarter for the J.V. game and it 's almost halftime. I can make it until after the game tonight right, it won’t be that bad? , I remember thinking to myself as I can barely breathe because something 's wrong with my back, but I know this pain, my ribs are out of place
When it comes to Pedro II, I believe he was a great ruler. He was a man ahead of his time and his reign was full of controversy. However, his people viewed him as a dictator and a failure as a ruler. They appreciated his rule and eventually forced him into exile, replacing his government with a republic.
We were on the local news channel because we walked in, and started filming our own show about sports players. We were talking about Lebron James, James Harden, and John Wall. The next thing we talked about was the weather, and we were just making things up we looked like we were the dumbest people on Earth. The people at the Station told us that we went to a basketball game after we left. It was a Warriors game, and we got to meet Stephen Curry.
Throughout my years of participating in high school basketball, I have overcome many challenges. My freshmen year, basketball started in a way I never expected. Continuing on, I understood the real meaning of hard work, and what it takes. Lessons I learned in basketball will carry on throughout my life, helping me to become a successful adult.
There is about 30 kids trying out and only 15 were going to make the team. I had a good feeling I was going to make the team because I had good enough skill and I had a very good basketball IQ. The tryouts lasted for two hours for two nights. The two hours were full of sprinting, full court scrimmages, and shooting drills. Overall I didn’t do as good as I would have liked to.
The sheer shriek of the whistle sounded over the silence of the gym. “Everyone on the line; 8 and 30!” Coach McMahon roared from the top of his lungs like a mountain lion. We sulked to the line for the cruelest of all punishments; this is only the beginning of my high school basketball career.
Thinking back on my childhood using the Piaget Cognitive theory to describe it I would say that in the sensorimotor stage of learning that I explored things with my hands, mouth and fingers. I was told this very often by my parents and siblings. I did suck my thumb so my fingers were very important to me. Egocentrism is something I had to definitely grow out of as a child having to learn to share with a younger sister and brother was very important in growing up. When I became a teen I still had a degree of egocentrism to deal with when it came to how I saw things in the world around me so I felt of course I was the center of everything going on.
I've learned that you should never give up, and always try your best. My story started this year. I had just tried out for a competitive basketball league and I was very anxious because I didn't know what to expect at tryouts and what to expect if I made the team. I was scared I was going to mess or do something incorrect. I'd been playing basketball since the 2nd grade, so I was an experienced player.
It was 3 minutes left in the game and we were now down by five points. Our opponents had the ball and they missed their shot. So now it is ours and we are running down the court. I key of the court and the ball is being thrown towards me, I react quickly and grab the ball and score two points. Now we are down by 3.
Air ball— again. My form was lost, coordination gone, and so was my patience. I’ve stopped playing basketball for 3 months mainly because of school work and things going on in my life. I was determined to get my skills back no matter how long it’ll take. I started a game of basketball with other people inside the gyms court.
When I was a child, I did not necessarily have a favorite toy as if to say, but there one thing in particular that I always used to liked playing with. That one thing was Basketball, A child’s favorite toy is usually something a child would bring around with them all the time and would cherish. That's exactly what I would do with my basketball. That leathery-bumpy skin of the ball in hands while I would dribble diligently down the street, was one of the greatest feelings I had as a child. The squeaking of shoes on the court and the swish of the ball in the hoop was probably the second best thing about basketball.
On a hot, sunny day of June I went to the park and played in a 5 on 5 basketball tournament with a few friends I have been playing basketball with since the 3rd grade. We didn’t have many people with height our tallest guy was just about 6’2 but that didn’t stop us from setting a goal to win this tournament and show no weakness to the other teams. We had the talent, the heart, and the discipline to push ourselves and to try and win this tournament. We started warming up on half of the court while our first competitors in the orange jerseys warmed up on the other half, the official finally blew the whistle and told us to get our starting 5 ready and on the court.
