I believe in working hard to achieve my goals even if they seem impossible. Freshman year, my number one priority was acing math class for once. My eighth grade math class- Algebra 1, was a little rough. It was the bumpiest road I’ve been on and I wanted to take a detour. One fun thing that came from the class was the party we had. A few kids brought in a smoke machine, a spinning light ball, and snacks. Ah, yes the smell of education, or maybe it was the smoke filling my lungs mixed with stale brownies.
I was fresh out of Algebra 1 and on my way into Geometry as a full grown high schooler. I didn't think that was possible after feeling like I hadn’t learned anything in Algebra 1. Also, I needed to get caught up in a year's worth of unlearned equations. I made a plan to succeed. I started going to a math tutor, starting to do homework in advance, and started doing problems everyday. I went from failing tests to actually earning an A. I worked on math every day and went to the tutor three times a week. Things weren't so smooth at the beginning of the year though. I was constantly stressed about failing.
