They were carefully integrated with their surroundings, both through their use of site-sensitive design and natural materials (so as to blend in with the hilly, evergreen setting) and by bringing the outdoors indoors, through devices as large expanses of glass, balconies and decks to allow sunlight, natural scents and breezes from outside to flow through the interiors
Sometimes we couldn’t even wait until Thanksgiving came around because we knew the leaves would be everywhere, and all the family came together, and the jump into the leaves. My family as even made it a tradition to go out after a couple hours of eating and play in the leaves. Fall brings joy and happiness to most people and it brings joy and excitement to
Choosing a college is a tough and life changing decision for a student. For the first time in their life they will be on their own. That’s part of why choosing a college is such a difficult and perplexing decision. As a student wanting to further my education and athletic career I have chosen three schools that would provide me as a student and athlete with what I need and want from a college. My schools of choice are King University, Oklahoma City University, and McKendree University.
The transition from eighth grade to ninth grade is one of the most difficult but unforgettable things a student must do in his adolescence. For me, it was filled with new opportunities of taking Ap classes and joining clubs. One of these cubs was Youth and Government (Y&G). For as long as I can remember my brother, Riad, has boasted about how amazing Y&G is and how it has changed his life. My brother is three years older then me, so as a freshman he was a senior in Y&G.
This is how a normal day at the office goes. * Ring ring ring* “Hello, this is Roseline June, how may I help you?” “Good afternoon, I lost my keys, any ideas on where they could possibly be?”
Hi Journey Group! If you know me at all, you absolutely know that I crave new experiences and love to share them. This year, I have begun new adventures… from beginning a new job, to becoming the first African-American female Publisher in Charlotte, to fulfilling a life-long dream of writing and publishing a book. We all have connected at different points in my life, and by far, this is the most exciting time for me that I’ve had in a very long time.
I was shocked at the denseness of the trees in the forest area and the beauty of the grounds. The trees were just starting to change color and the orange, yellow and red colors peeking through the rest of the green leaves added such beauty to the park. I’m not used to the different colors in the trees – I mean I am from Florida and we only have two seasons, hot and not as hot - so this is such a new experience for me. There were such a variety of things to see and do. There was a farmers market: Druid Hill Farmer’s market.
I gazed around in wonder. There were monstrous vines twisting and twining themselves around tall trees. A plum-colored brook snaked its way across the jungle floor and beside it was the strangest garden I’d ever seen. Giant orange mushrooms, yellow greenery, and weird glow-in-the-dark flowers, grew like weeds in the scanty sunlight. Positioned here and there were gnomes, fairies, imps, and other creatures all smiling and frozen in peculiar poses.
I chose Abraham Lincolns quote “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.” I agree with this statement 100 percent because any person can fight back from something, but once you give them the chance to do something that’s how you really find out the truth about that person. I have had an experience like this in my life when I was playing football I began the year as a receiver. The starting quarterback got hurt; so our coaches needed someone else to play quarterback. When I was in middle school, I played quarterback, so I told my coaches I could do it.
I have had tough hope once, I had to move to a different state and start to get used to the new place. Moving was hard and took a long time to move everything to our new house. My new house was hard to get used to because it was different and I wasn 't used to it which made it hard to sleep and I had to leave my friends behind and I would have to find new friends. Making new friends was hard because I would be alone until I found new friends and I would have no one to talk to so I would be very quiet. Usually I would always be talking to a friend and I am only social with friends.
I see the faint shadows of towering, tall trees side by side in the forest. It 's dark out. All the critters are asleep and there are no longer the sounds of angry drivers racing down the nearby highway, or shouts of children on the playground a couple blocks down. The white, fluffy, deep snow makes it hard to walk, and my feet are numb from the cold. I have to squint my eyes to make out what 's in front of me.
Starting over Starting over might be easy when you are young, but if you are middle age and already have a stable and calm life, it is very hard to start over. My family and I moved from Egypt to The US three years ago, so we had to start from scratch. We found systems in the US are different from my country. After we found a good residence, our concern was finding employment. I was a science teacher in my country, so I tried to find a job in the educational field, but there were a lot of requirements to get a job as a teacher.
Their were light green aspens and dark green deciduous, multi color ponderosa pine. While the wind blew and the sounds of tree limbs wiped back and forth in the gust, I just stood their and breathed in the cold, crisp air and hoped this place wasn't as bad as I had been imagining it would be. We had made the trip from Marysville that morning, it was around 3:15 on a Wednesday.
Those vivid piles attract children that like digging in them, though adults are often waking those kids that are sleeping inside of them and join this lively activity, throwing the leave into the air and laughing heartily. But this is only a little part of fun that you may have during this season. Autumn has a second name: fall; and this is not only because of leaves on the ground. There are more clouds in the sky that make shadows cover the earth. They are gladly falling on the ground, turning every object that you have seen a thousand times before into something special and enigmatic.
I have always been paranoid. I sleep with three lamps on since I’m deathly afraid of the dark, and have pepper spray with me every day that I walk home from school. I can almost never stay home alone, because of my fear of kidnappers and robbers breaking in. Scary movies are not my thing at all and on halloween I prefer to stay home and pass out candy. My biggest fear of all though, are the popular girls at school.
