The theme off the story is successes of doing right and tragedy of doing wrong. The theme is oblivious after reading through the book. Wes Moore wrote in the introduction “our destinies can be determined by a single stumble down the wrong path, or a tentative step down the right one.” I believe this is what he is trying to teach us about humanity through his work. The book show both sides of humanity the dark side and when its at it best.
10. Theme The main idea, lesson to be learned, view/opinion of life, or patterns of life that the author wants to show.
For example, the theme follow your heart is presented in the book from the many decisions Cassia had to make to determine her future. For instance, Cassia the main character had to make a decision on who she wants to spend the rest of her life with, Xander or Ky. She had to make a very challenging decision but all throughout the book she stuck to what she felt in her heart and that's what led her to the right path she wanted to be in all along which was to be with Ky. In addition, the next theme could also be stand by your moral. An example is when Cassia found out that the society was taking advantage of her and other people by making experiments with their future and everyone else was okay with it but Cassia wasn’t.
My theme is how humanity’s purpose should be to help one another in an upwardly manner. To help one another in times of need. To give to the collective. This is demonstrated by how Tom develops throughout the story. In the beginning of the book, Tom basically lives for the present movement.
Hello again, I am so sorry I’ve emailed you so many times but I would really really like to meet one on one with Gerardo. My initial meeting that was scheduled for February 14th, I had to cancel due to being very sick and not wanting to spread it to him or his family. Are there any open slots? God bless, Rachal Adent
I have been doing some thinking about our conversation a few days ago and have concluded that I will take you up on the offer! I just sold my old bike and now have some money left over that I can use to pay for those seminars. I am going to see how soon I can get this done, I am going to look at the dates and send my form in. I will keep you posted on the status of things as they get processed.
That theme would be to always think before you act. Whenever you are about to perform a risky task, or attempt an impossible challenge, always think about the consequences before you commit your actions. Do not just put an illusion in your head that everything will be alright, because more often than not, things go wrong without thought put in. We can see this example in Oedipus. If Oedipus just stopped for a moment to consider what Tiresias’ warning was, he likely would have quit his search for the killer, and this likely would have saved the life of his wife/mother and saved his own eyes from being squashed.
The Tide detergent bottle gradually moved back and forth, as my father’s elbow creaked, refusing to cooperate. “It’s my own way of physical therapy, you see,” my father boasted. “If I keep it up, I think I’ll be able to move my elbow by the end of the month.” “Yeah,” I whispered, keeping my voice low, because I knew my mother was shut-away in the other room. The lights were off, the door was closed, and she barricaded each ear with a pillow to block out any sound that might further trigger her migraine.
Empathy makes a medical assistant more compassionate and able to relate well to any patient. Being a developer makes all people feel motivated. Seeing potential in others keeps people away from negativity. Lastly, I did not have Discipline as one of my trait, but I also feel as if everything needs to be in order. When something is not in order; it is your job to make it organized, so then everything is in a working
Soon after I crawled out of my hole of self-pity, I thought to myself, “First thing’s first, I need to get a job so I can support us.” And that’s exactly what I did. I now work at Speedway, and even though it’s not exactly my dream job, thinking about Izzy makes every mess I clean up, dish I wash, and every insane ranting customer worth it. I wake up every morning, and put on my uniform with pride, and gratitude that I have a way to provide for her. Having Izzy has forced me to learn pivotal values in life, such as responsibility, self-worth, selflessness, hard work, and keeping a positive attitude.
What vision do you have of yourself ten years from now? I see myself in the National Basketball Association (NBA) getting money and living the good life. I know it will be tough because life is not easy. I will have to work harder than others to get recognized. I will face a lot of tough obstacles, but I know my main three obstacles.
I have had tough hope once, I had to move to a different state and start to get used to the new place. Moving was hard and took a long time to move everything to our new house. My new house was hard to get used to because it was different and I wasn 't used to it which made it hard to sleep and I had to leave my friends behind and I would have to find new friends. Making new friends was hard because I would be alone until I found new friends and I would have no one to talk to so I would be very quiet. Usually I would always be talking to a friend and I am only social with friends.
Let me set the scene, it’s a balmy night in Copenhagen, the empty streets are filled with the sound of our feet hitting the pavement, reverberating off the buildings, rippling through the air like a pebble dropped into a deep pond. The time is 9 p.m., to be exact, and Kathryn and I are in search of something to pique our interest. Kathryn and I have been acquaintances since the age of 8 when we met performing in musical theatre. She was kind, outgoing, and wore a yellow raincoat to practice everyday, even though it never actually rained. I was quiet, timid, and my clothing consisted of a variety of sweat pants and dance clothes.
My signature theme strengths are as follows: Context – I strive to understand the what, when, who, and where of certain events. I have always loved history, studying the past helps me make sense of the future. Futuristic – My futuristic strengths include feeling great about life, I love living day by day to the fullest. I get energized when making plans for my son’s birthday, or the upcoming year.
