My Identity The concept of identity is something that changes as much as the world. Throughout Asia, Africa, South America, and parts of Europe for young people it means that they are farmers and are soon to be married. Throughout the modern world, it means school, family responsibilities, college, and jobs that allow them to spend money freely. We all have a our own identity that makes us different from one another beyond our skin. There is no cultural identity there is only self identity. What makes me, me, what gives me an identity that is different than anyone else are the parts of my life that I go through everyday, where my family comes from, and how I was born. For the most part I would still be dyslexic, I would still have insomnia, and I would still be considered mentally disturbed. But what would change is how I handle school. In Vietnam I wouldn’t have as much school as I do here, I would go to a Christian school where I would learn Math, English, History, but I would not have to deal with it as much as I do here because school is only six months there. While here I have to deal with it eight months out of the year, I have more support here than I do in Vietnam. The school system here gives me the opportunity to talk to others with my disabilities and mental issues. Being able to talk through my issues with someone helps me become a stable person and allows me to show my emotions. My disabilities are the main challenges in my …show more content…

The main challenge for me that I had to overcome my whole life are my mental disabilities, which make reading difficult and makes it very difficult for me to show many emotions. The only other thing that I had to overcome that had major effects in my life is my mother moving to Poland to run a company for five years. My mother leaving for five years made me more independent, because she wasn’t there for me to talk to everyday. Though I was still living with family it was much different from when my mom was there, but my mother not living with also created opportunity. It was thanks in part to my mom living in Europe that I was able to travel around the world and become both cultured and independent, my socioeconomic status also
