There are many different reasons and choices that have altered my life’s path to get myself to where I am today. Currently, I am a senior, double major in political science and economics here at Florida State, in my last semester before I move on to FSU’s Law School. Deciding to go to Florida State Law School is the most recent journey that I have chosen that will dramatically change my life. There were many other schools both in and out of state that I could have chosen, but my love for Florida State and their premier law program were the major factors in my decision to stay here for law school. Personally, I believe that staying in the capital, Tallahassee, is also wise because there are a lot of internship and job opportunities available here in law. If I went somewhere else, I felt that it could limit potential opportunities for me to increase my experience and knowledge of law. After my sophomore year, I had doubts about the program and whether it was worth it. I could have simply taken honors and AP courses and got some college credit, or I could go through the IB program. But, my counselor told me that with my high grades, completing the IB program would put me in a perfect place when applying to college. In fact, it is probably the reason I got the scholarship from Florida State, which is a major reason why I chose here over the University of Florida. I am very thankful that I was motivated by my counselor and my parents to strive to complete the difficult program because it has prepared me for college.
