Life in Ethiopia When most people think of Ethiopia as poor country. I remember when I moved here people thought it was cool to meet an Ethiopian girl. I moved to Waco, TX when was 15. I attended to Waco high school and I was very nervous because I spoke only few English. On the first day of class we introduce ourselves and we told the teacher where we were from. I made a lot of friend that day because of where I am from. The students thought it was so awesome to meet an Ethiopian girl. I was kind of absent about the students asking the most stupid questions about life in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is one of the most beautiful country with different cultures, languages, and unique dances. Ethiopia is knowing for different diverse cultures. Ethiopia have a lot of cultures, but the one thing that is celebrated through the whole country and religious is Enkutatash. Enkutatash is the first day of the New Year on Meskerem 1. Enkutatash is not a religion holiday but most of people that celebrated Enkutatash are Christian. Ethiopia has 88 individual languages. I only learn how to speak the main languages which is Amharic. Most Ethiopian do not understand each other because of all variety languages. However, most people speak more than one language. I was not allowed to leave my house besides school and I did not travel to different area of Ethiopia. The Ethiopia government operates on Amharic (አማርኛ) which is the second largest language spoken by the people of Ethiopia. I thought it was funny when I am from Ethiopia but I cannot understand another Ethiopians. When my family members came to visit us it was hard to understand them, because they had a strong accents and they pronounced some the words different from where I grew
