Personal Narrative: My Summer Simulation
For all of the summer simulations, I was able to come on time and maintain a professional behavior with my peers and patient. For communication, I find myself being confident and relaxed compared to how I felt at the beginning of the summer simulation. For example, during subacute, my partner and I was able to provide patient education on the BIPAP machine to a patient actor and during the simulation, I never felt uncomfortable or nervous while delivering the education. For this week I would give myself a score of 4.

“Log number 17: We have been lost for 10 weeks in this tundra, if anyone is hearing this then we are alive and I published this with my other log dates,” I chattered, while writing. “ What are you talking about?” questioned my pal Tom, but he goes by SANS. I replied with, “ I’m writing my 17th log date, you know I talk to myself when I write.” I have made 16 other log entries and he still questions me about this. But my cousin Sunnshine, my friend SANS (Tom), and I have been stuck in this stupid tundra in the middle of Greenland for 10 weeks, with limited food, freezing temperatures, and the University (the building we work for) completely forgot about us, go figure.

October 14 7:07 am: The raindrops glisten as i walk along the road listening to my walkman. “another day another blunder” i thought to myself. when im a minute away the bus drives right by me. “oh crap” i pull out my phone to call my parents. Something that has influenced me from past experiences is playing with Twisted. Twisted is a softball team from Greenbrier that is really good. When I played with them they all helped each other out and always picked each other up when someone was down. When I played with them, they were always up on their feet and they never sat down. It was like they all wanted it and in my softball team that is not what happens.
