Personal Narrative: My Personal Experience With Dog Obesity

Reading this article, I remember my own personal experience with dog obesity. When I was younger, my family owned a Labrador who was overweight for most of his life. Despite our best efforts, he was unable to lose weight. Towards the end of his life, he developed severe knee problems and was constantly in pain. At the time, the cause of knee problems was unknown and I felt awful that I couldn’t help him through his pain. While reading, I was informed that my dog’s obesity could have been the cause of his knee problems. After continuing through the article, I could conclude that perhaps my dog’s outcome was inevitable due to his genetics and I had little control over the situation.
