The domestic policy of the Cold War era truly went on to shape the country we see to this day. Two of the presidents that had the greatest impacts on the modern United States were Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Regan. The administrations under these two men would, through their policies on the environment, poverty, and civil/ human rights, make lasting changes to how the government would handle these issues. Lyndon B. Johnson was the president when some of the first claims of global warming and acid rain reached the White House. Johnson’s administration began a wave of new environmentalism with new policies branded under his Great Society plan.
Beyond visiting family in other parts of the Southeast like in South Carolina and Texas, I have
One day, on a Saturday afternoon . We went to the boat. The boat is parked at the bow at Newman lake. The boat is a blue and white color. The blue is a dark blue but faded.
Kings Island Memoir… “Are you ready for this?” I asked. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” he replied. “Let’s do this!”
“Memories of our lives, of our works, and of our deeds will continue in others,” eloquently spoken by Rosa Parks. I have grown and had a stellar time in 5th grade. I have gone to places I have never gone to before. I have done things I have never done before. Three of the most memorable moments I had in 5th grade was going to Catalina Island, going to the California Science Museum, and reading “Shoe Dog.”
An event that has influenced me greatly has definitely been the mission trips I partake in every summer. I've went on one each summer starting in 2015, in which i hope to continue this for many more years. Throughout the many trips I've taken, I have learned that everyone deserves the same amount of help and respect. You never know just how far the little acts you do can go for others. My first trip was to Virginia Beach, I first thought that it would be all fun and games.
we took tours of lots of beautiful cities. of course our children came along but they were busy on their little new phones we bought them. trust me
Two weeks before going to a Boy Scout camp, Camp Emerald Bay, in July of 2016 I had to complete the PADI prerequisites to be able to acquire my PADI scuba diver certificate. After flying down to California with my troop and my longtime friend, Brendan, we got to Camp Emerald Bay on Catalina Island. I have never really been that big into boy scouts I’ve only stayed with it for so long to obtain my Eagle Scout but I’ve always loved going to the summer camps every year. This year I was especially excited because it would be first time going scuba diving, also this wasn’t a normal boy scout camp for me as I didn’t have to stay in the same cabin as my troop which was really a blessing for me.
Then when we were in New York we visited Central Park and Times Square. I always wanted to visit New York and I finally did. Going on that trip was an important part of my life because I made many memories with my best friend, saw a lot of our history, and traveled across the United States. My best friend and I always go back to those memories, by seeing our history I was able to relate more and go back to it when learning about it in eighth grade history, and by going all the way on the other side of the United States I learned that I enjoy traveling and I would like to do it
My favorite was going to Texas because I don 't really remember Florida because I was a baby. I want to go to Florida again so then I could see the beautiful ocean that I already saw but not as a baby. Florida is a beautiful place people tell me. If we go to Florida again we get to stay at one of my family members house.
The wind blows in my face, and I can smell the fresh sea air. However, it is but little relief to the seasickness I am feeling on this crowded ferry with tons of other 7th graders. At least I am with friends. Kiersten, Holly, Jillian, Kayli, Kristen, Kailynn, and I are all going to the Catalina Island Marine Institute. It was a long drive to California, and now we’re on this boat.
I felt the excitement jolting through me when my Mom told me she and I were going to Panama City Beach, Florida for a week. We had wanted to go the since school dismissed for summer break, but had no luck finding a place to stay. Three days before we were due to leave, my mom found a good price for a beachfront condominium for the week of June eleventh through June eighteenth. I had been to Panama City Beach before, but I always enjoy returning because it is always a good atmosphere and lots of fun to explore. On my vacation to Panama City Beach, Florida this summer, I enjoyed time with my mom, going swimming, and encountering people from all over the United States.
Looking into history you will come across crime and how it has affected America today. Serial killers have been around for decades; with killers they each have their own path to why they did what they did and all the way to when they got caught. Some of the most well known and worst serial killers are Samuel Little, Ted Bundy, and John Wayne Gacy. These are some of the worst killers to be known, each of them targeted different people, and got caught. June 7th 1940 in Reynolds Georgia Samuel McDowell, better known as Samuel Little was born.
A vacation is the best when you are with your best friend and family. Myrtle Beach has all kinds of things you can do from cool activities to boardwalks and finally being in the ocean. A vacation has a lot of fun things to do and to see when your there sowe did a lot of stuff. One thing about Myrtle beach was the cool activities. First, we went to the sky wheel, it was so high up you could see everything.
The Personal Narrative There’s a beauty in nature that seems almost too vast to explain to others. In Southern California we have beaches that are 2 hours away, and Big Bear the same distance. I’ve found that the place with beauty so astounding to me is much farther away, where the air is clean and the beauty is unsurmountable. This past summer in the beginning of June, I went camping for the 2nd time in the Sierra Mountains. The drive there was 5 hours of a mostly desolate road full of desert the first half of the trip, and pastures filled with cows and horses the second.
