College was always one of my biggest goals and something i do not plan on giving up on not even with the thought I possibly will be in debt during or after i get my college diploma. But this isn't the same situation for other young adults throughout the US, a lot of young adults don't even dream of college because of student debt. The thought of it alone almost made me feel like it’s something impossible. In this image unfortunately, I see my future and the future of a lot of my peers and family members .
It seems that more and more with the rising cost of education, that students have to rely on financing their education so that they can afford tuition every semester. This is no surprise as tuition has increased an average of 7% a year for the last couple of decades. Let's face it, college is just expensive. So unless we work 50 hours a week, or manage to get lots of scholarships and go to a cheap school, we're probably going to have to have some sort of student loan. Most of the time college students will get subsidized or unsubsidized Stafford loans.

Getting involved means being apart of something more, having the chance to met different people, helping out the community, but its also means learning more about who you are as a person. Starting off at Washburn University I plan to get involved right away, in activities or clubs that would help my academically and socially like the Hispanic club , Freethinkers and French club. I will set goals for myself and achieve them, some small some big. One goal I am pursuing right now is learning french and Portuguese, i plan on going to Brazil next year. School goals, are turning in my work on time, stay focused on any task that is given to me, making sure I understand what i need to do and how to do it.
Debt caused by student loans is unnecessary when going into training, education, or college. Students take out student loans because they do not have enough money to travel through their higher education without going broke. It is possible to finish college without taking out student loans. Way to prevent debt after college is to apply for as many grants or scholarships as you can and to save up for college while still in high school. Managing and financing money smartly, while taking a proactive position to earn as much money for college will enable me to remain out of debt created from students taking on an excess of student loans. Student loans are a nightmare of the past that are now easily avoidable if the time and effort is put into avoiding them. Scholarships, work studies, full college and university rides are all opportunities constantly available to students. There should be no need to experience financial debt while in your student school years. Schooling should be every student's priority, not worrying about having to drop a class to get a job or on which loan company has the lowest interest rate.
Society often believes college is a necessary experience for a better future, but I argue that the future will not be any better when student debt becomes a part of life for those who follow that mainstream belief. Most parents often dream of the great colleges and universities that their children will get accepted into; however, they fail to think of the cost to attend those institutions. Financial aids! Financial aids! Yes there are financial aids that students can apply to lessen the student debt.

College costs are skyrocketing, and at the same time we have students wanting to learn and become educated in order to contribute their knowledge to society. The student loan debt crisis is weighing upon us, so we need to reform the system. If I had the power to make a change, I would cut the costs of college education and lower student debt by a reformed banking system. One of the major causes of the student loan debt crisis is high interest rates for student loans. Too many banks offer loans and do not think how these students are going to pay back the money.
Who I am as a learner. Well let me start by letting me tell you that I am a very good at swimming so good went to nationals this summer ,I placed 2nd overall in my age division. This summer I also placed 1 in my best stroke which is breaststroke. When I was in third grade it was New Years Day and I was at my Grandma 's house when his dog attacked me.
Most of my friends who are currently in college have between 5000$-20.000$ in federal and private loans. In many cases, besides for the loans, students have to work and study at the same time, which results in a stressful life for the student. In fact, many students are not able to finish their education because, since they can’t afford it, they have to work over their studies. Out of all the possible reasons to drop out of college, “the No. 1 reason many young adults drop out of college is an inability to juggle school and work” (Johnson). Finishing college is the most decisive forecaster of prosperity in the workforce and the inconsistency in college completion between children of rich and poor families duplicated since the late 1980s (McGlynn 55).
In the beginning of the semester, I created some goals for myself. These helped me become not only a better student but a better writer as well. One of my goals was to have better grammar in my writing. Throughout this semester I have worked on little grammar fixes daily. Another goal I had for myself was to build a better formal tone in my writing.
