At the start of my freshman year of college, I decided to dive straight into organic chemistry. Having a preview of the subject in a special offered course at the end of my senior year of high school intrigued me and I wanted to learn more. Despite academic advisors telling me I would struggle and possibly fail at taking such a notoriously difficult class at the beginning of my academic career, I felt confident in my ability to take it and be successful, and I was right. During the second part of the course, I met my current principal investigator, Dr. Adelina Voutchkova.
