On October 3, 1974, at around 10:45 pm, Elton Hymon and Leslie Wright of the Memphis Police Department were responding to a “prowler on the inside” call. They made the scene and observed a woman in the house next to the intended home of the call. She was standing on her front porch pointing at the house. She advised that she had heard glass breaking and someone was breaking into the house next door. As Wright showed both officers on the scene on his radio to dispatch, Hymon went to the rear of the house.
October 2nd, 2002 was the start of a long and horrific three weeks in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. People were terrified to be in the area and everyone was on edge. What appeared to be random killings, turned out to be a well-organized series of senseless shootings that took the lives of ten innocent people. After days of people being scared to death and much confusion, investigators discovered that there were two suspects in the shootings; John Allen Muhammad and his teenage partner Lee Boyd Malvo and they were in a blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice sedan designed to terrorize people. This break in the case came when one of the suspects called the tip hotline and told them to look into a murder in Alabama, which lead to the case being
Moskos, a harvard trained sociologist describes what is was like to work as a police officer in Baltimore’s Eastern district. As a young new police officer, Moskos was placed in the Eastern district, which is a very high crime area, one of the most dangerous areas in the United States. Moskos contends that when officers are fresh out of the academy, they are usually placed in high crime districts. Since these areas are considered to be the least desired to work. So in a sense the ghetto becomes a real life training area.
On August 24, a terrible crime occurred in our country. A young white boy noticed a young African-American male, half-submerged in the Tallahatchie River, at Pecan Point. He notified authorities and when they arrived, they concluded that the body was badly decomposed. They had also noticed a gunshot wound above the right ear, a missing left skull, a tongue swollen eight times its normal size, and an eye dangling from its socket. They had also noticed something peculiar, a ring on his finger with the initials L.T. written on it.

The laws that the city enforces don’t do much because they are broken everyday. Jill Leovy, the author of Ghettoside: A True Story of Murder in America, made it her mission to spread awareness about the crimes that are being ignored in Los Angeles everyday. Leovy’s first attempt to spread awareness was the online crime website. This website was a method of Leovy’s to alert people about the crime in Los Angeles.
The article, "Suspect Arrested in Series of Tampa Homicide," discusses the suspect of the Tampa killings, Howell Emanuel Donaldson 3rd, and how he was discovered when a gun was found inside his work bag at a McDonald in Ybor City neighborhood. The killer is a 24-year-old male that is charged with four counts of the first-degree murderer and was arrested on November 28, 2017. Furthermore, the police have bona fide evidence to prove Donaldson as guilty due to the fact that his Smith and Wesson .40-caliber handgun cartridge casing was found at first three crime scenes. The article, “Life in the shadow of a Killer on the Loose,” explains how in Tampa, Florida, around the beginning of October, nearly four victims were found dead in Seminole Heights. There are only the security cameras scattered around the neighborhood which only show a tall person wearing all black flipping their phone near three of the crime scenes.

Ever since I was young, I have always heard someone talking about Marquette. Part of this may be due to the fact that three of my neighbors have gone to Marquette and have absolutely loved it. Adding on to that, I have met even more people that have gone to Marquette that have really liked it and are usually successful in life. I met even more people at the Marquette open house that were from all over the United States and said they went to Marquette and they hope their child will attend Marquette as well. This made me realize that Marquette is truly local, since I know several people that have gone to Marquette that live by me and at the same time it is global, since I have met people around the United States, as well as other countries that
Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love” was produced in 1981. What most people don’t know is that it was originally sang by American Singer Gloria Jones, in 1965. Gloria Jones’ version was essentially a commercial failure, although did acquire a few fans in underground British nightclubs in the late 70s. English synthpop-duo Soft Cell recorded a modern version of “Tainted Love” in 1981. This cover reached number one in eight different countries, while it reached the number eight spot in the United States in 1982.
It was a normal morning in my house. As usual, my dad woke me up and I got ready for my day. I moped out to the kitchen where my breakfast was waiting. When I walked onto the bus and arrived at school. I walked into Kaneland John Stewart Elementary School and walked into my first grade room.
I love country songs above anything else. I only have country songs in my phone. I love to lesson to my songs during anything like reading, homework, cleaning, and so much more. I can listen to music for hours at end. I have always loved singing to the songs, I just can’t help myself.
My Theme Song Songs can connect with how we feel and our experiences. Music has been a major part of my life ever since I was just a toddler. For me music has helped me express what I am feeling and who I am as a person. My therapy has been music, it has helped me through almost every problem I have faced. With listening to the song lyrics, we can get a true understanding of what the artist is trying to tell us.
There was this girl that used to follow me around, I don't know if she knew I knew she stalked me but it always creeped me out. She was weird. I swear I even once or twice saw her killing small animals like bunnies, cats, or dogs. Freak.
Many years ago, I was in a bar and was particularly rich at the time, I didn’t have many friends and my wife had passed away recently, oh how we had the best of times together. I would go to the bar around the corner, waste my money and drink my sorrows away until till the bartender would cut me off. One day I met a man by the name of Fortunato, he was a nice guy we hit it off drank till it was early morning. We were both drunk, so I offered to let him stay at my house to sleep it off because I did just live around the corner.
