I played basketball with my cousins Bradley and Shane, we played for about 30 min. Then we went inside and ate, we had, rolls, chicken, potatoes, beans and stuffing. After that we talked and then went
I have been doing some thinking about our conversation a few days ago and have concluded that I will take you up on the offer! I just sold my old bike and now have some money left over that I can use to pay for those seminars. I am going to see how soon I can get this done, I am going to look at the dates and send my form in. I will keep you posted on the status of things as they get processed.
The party was for my family and my dad’s friends that wanted to see him one last time before he left for Tennessee. A decent amount of my family showed up. My dad put up a volleyball net and we started a volleyball game. Everyone played besides the
We watched the other teams play and there were some good games. We all go back to the hotel and swim in the pool to celebrate our big win. The coaches ordered pizza and we all just had fun. Then the next day we had to check out of our hotel, after we ate breakfast. So after the long 3 days of baseball we had to head back home
Soon after I crawled out of my hole of self-pity, I thought to myself, “First thing’s first, I need to get a job so I can support us.” And that’s exactly what I did. I now work at Speedway, and even though it’s not exactly my dream job, thinking about Izzy makes every mess I clean up, dish I wash, and every insane ranting customer worth it. I wake up every morning, and put on my uniform with pride, and gratitude that I have a way to provide for her. Having Izzy has forced me to learn pivotal values in life, such as responsibility, self-worth, selflessness, hard work, and keeping a positive attitude.
Independence. Freedom. What I thought I was fighting for was being taken away from an entire group of people. People many of us were friends with, equals with. They are Americans, but that didn 't matter.
Other than sports we had movie nights with friends or family, we also went to social gatherings at friends’ homes. My peers included children in my community as well as children in other communities who I played sports
I have had tough hope once, I had to move to a different state and start to get used to the new place. Moving was hard and took a long time to move everything to our new house. My new house was hard to get used to because it was different and I wasn 't used to it which made it hard to sleep and I had to leave my friends behind and I would have to find new friends. Making new friends was hard because I would be alone until I found new friends and I would have no one to talk to so I would be very quiet. Usually I would always be talking to a friend and I am only social with friends.
No one was yelling out anything fun, no one was screaming for the stunt groups to hit their stunts. It was silent. The first time we actually came together as a real family was when they called off our names as first place winners in the game day division at nationals. We all began to hug each other and cry our hearts out. I was sitting behind one girl on my team that I wasn 't very good friends with, but when they called off our name we both looked at each other and then hugged so tightly
As a peer assistant I help the students with disabilities with their daily school jobs such as helping take down the flags, putting out bus signs, fill up paper for
Investigating My goal for my Personal Project was to help elementary aged students during the summer so that they won't lose as much of their knowledge and won't fall as far behind in their education. I chose this goal because, as a child, I fell behind during the summers. I was greatly affected by the lack of learning I was exposed to as a child. As a result, I was pulled out of school and my mother continued my education from home for a couple of years.
Since you said to write about a topic I could relate to the most, I am going to write about how my siblings and I struggle with undocumented parents to this day. Immigration is probably the most overlooked and ignored issue in the past years. Bernie Sanders in a speech onced said “We cannot and should not sweep up millions of men, women, and children – many of whom lived here for many years, contribute to our society, and are integrated into the fabric of American life – and throw them out of the country unjustly”. “Equality for all” is probably the most famous quote in American history yet equality is not distributed equally. I truly believe that everybody deserves to have a share in the “American Dream”.
I had moved from my father’s house at an early age to begin my own family with big ambitions and even bigger dreams. At the time, I had every intention of slaying dragons and returning as the conquering hero with ticker tape parade and cheering fans. What I did not know at that time was how much of an everyday adversary the world could be and how many temptations and poor choices would be available on almost a daily basis. Looking back I now understand what my father had tried to tell me with a simple universal truth, “Water takes the shape of its container.” On the flight home, I had stared out the small rectangle window into the seemingly endless blue sky punctuated by sparse cotton sculptures which changed with the wisps of the wind
Only I know what I enjoy to read and will not put me to sleep. When we got to pick what I wanted to read about and write the paper on. I could really get focused into the book and paper because it interested me. Now only a couple of papers interest me and keep me attuned to the book. The ECA had me read a boring story then write a paper about it, and that was a struggle for me because the story was beginning to bore me to death.
I was lying on the ground inside a dimly lit cell soaking in my blood and I was terrified, feeling the last bit of my strength slowly leaving me. I tried to fight back the fear and helplessness that I felt knowing that I was a going to die, but it was something that could not be accomplished in moments like these. I was starting to feel the numbness replacing the pain of my mutilated body. “Say… Do you want to live forever?” A distant and foreign voice sounded in my head.
