Personal Narrative: Seventeen

Seventeen is a mystery flavored lollipop. The flavor is something you recognize but can't put your finger on. So many things are “old hat” compared to those little freshman walking around the halls; and yet, I still find new experiences and people often enough to keep me slightly timid of the “big world” looming ahead of me. Heck yeah I can go buy my own deodorant with my own money at the grocery store, but, I occasionally by sushi instead of gas with my last $20 from my paycheck which leaves me getting around on fumes until I can get some cash off my parents. 17 is such a mixed bag. Just like the mystery lollipop, I’ll never know what I’m going to get from day-to-day. I’ve done some awesome and “adulty” things at 17. That voice in the back
