After 7th grade though, I learned from my mistake, which was not knowing when or how to ask for help. When I entered 8th grade and then high school, I was committed to working with my teachers to ask them for assistance with subjects I struggled with. I polished my time management skills and studying
I would like Posse Fundation to know that doring my junior year, I was enrolled in early college at the University of the District of Columbia, taking English Composition 1, and I will also start the US History to 1865 class this summer, June 27 in the same university. I have been in the honor roll since my freshman year in high school until now, my Junior year. Additionally, through out my high school experience, I have recieved several awards, including the Academic Excelence Award, Pride, Poise, Perseverance Award, Articulate Communicator in Two Lenguages Award, and the Intellectually Curious Scholar Award. I have worked as a babysitter every afternoon for almost a year. Doring my Senior year, I will be joining the girls softball team as
Describe the most significant challenge you have faced and the steps you have taken to overcome this challenge. How has this challenge affected your academic achievement? Just like most new international students, the hardest challenge I faced in USA was coping in a completely different society. Moving to the United States is not all about changing lifestyle, but also facing cultural differences. It was difficult to adapt to the new education system and making friends because of the language barriers.
The freshman myth has really opened my eyes, after all I myself am a freshman in college straight out of high school. The fact that 18 million students in a single year apply for college and 34% of those students drop or flunk out of college is a little scary. I have big goals for life I want to be either a Jag for the Army or a Prosecuting Attorney. The freshman myth is what I was thinking my senior year; piece of cake, easy, not going to have to work as hard as I have the last few years of my life. I learned quick that senior year is a lot more stressful then it sounds.
1.) I would have done a few things differently during Freshman year. I wish that I would’ve got all A’s this year. I would of studied more for my harder classes. I wish that I wouldn 't procrastinate in some of my harder classes. I also would’ve been more outgoing to try new sports/activities.
Barnes-Beasley. Session1.Journal As a former military dependent, I moved from one Military base to another. I attended 3 different high schools. Started my freshman year at O’Fallon Township High School in O’Fallon, Illinois.
First of all, thanks for taking your time to write this recommendation letter, considering you probably have many more to write. I wish for you to write one because your sophomore English Honors class was the first challenging class I experienced in all my years of learning. I remember failing the first essay you assigned; I felt like giving up and I was certain the class would be more challenging than I previously thought. My prognostication was right, it was not easy, however I did improve by the end of the year and I had confidence in performing sharpened English work in my Junior and Senior year. To this day, I continue to improve my literary essays now that I have AP.
I was sitting in the Doctor Who covered room, looking at the confusing, empty schedule, I had 30 minutes to fill in my life for the next year. Junior High. I am going into seventh grade. I thought of a younger me, walking through the halls of Webster, thinking, "I 'm a second grader now". But, she has a long way to go.
Summer was winding down and I was getting ready for school. I was kind of nervous but I felt good. I was ready to out of middle school. I heard that the upper classman were really rude to the freshman so I was nervous.
The hardest struggle I have had to overcome is the overwhelming pressure that was put upon me by my family. My parents have always expected great things from me regarding school. Graduating with a 4.25 from middle school, they expected nothing lower than A’s in high school, which put a large amount of weight
During my freshman and sophomore years of high school, I was a dancer at a local studio and at Arts and Communications Magnet Academy (ACMA). Dancing was fun for me, I met a lot of great friends and was able to express myself through art. I genuinely loved going to ACMA. But, dancing and attending ACMA led me to meet someone who forced me into situations I never expected to be in. Although I wish I had not ever been forced into those circumstances, there is a silver lining to it.
The most difficult challenge I have had throughout my school year is transportation. I live 8 miles from my school. It is a challenge getting to school events I am required to attend on days when the school bus is not available. My parents are not always able to take me to these school events. It has been a hassle to find ways in order to meet my responsibilities.
My first impression of Will was that he was extremely small for the average sixth grade student. He was about 4’10” or so and maybe 75 pounds. He was perfectly dressed in Under Armour sports attire and matching Nike athletic shoes and socks; an outfit I have since learned defines his “away from school” character. Will came to school with every possible supply on the list the sixth grade team had mailed to him weeks before properly labeled with his name and homeroom teacher. This young man was ready to begin life as a middle school student.
Freshman year was an interesting time because of all the things that happened to me. I really had few friends when I got here and my parents would talk this up to make it sound better than it actually was. Thank god i had a sister who was graduating here because she told me what it was really like.
Junior High years were pretty… interesting to say the least. Seventh grade was my first year in the high school. Yes, I was pretty nervous going into a school with kids who were much, much older than me. I knew I wasn’t the only one nervous. That kind of helped my brain chill out a bit.
