Personal Narrative: The Perfect Pumpkin

On a cold and blustery November morning, I was walking around the Newberry farm searching for the perfect pumpkin. The farm owner, Mr. Johnson was welcoming and incredibly kind to allow me to wander wherever I wanted to on his farm. While walking, suddenly, I came upon the most perfectly shaped pumpkin. It was big and round and I knew it was Mr. Johnson’s best. Would he let me have it for the Thanksgiving holiday? As I was walking back, I thought I heard something. I turned around, but no one was there, but a scarecrow with a smile on its face. How odd, I thought to myself. I turned and continued walking, only to hear someone say, “hello.” My heart started to beat very fast, and I could not move; I was paralyzed with fear. I turned quickly and was in shock. Still shaking in my shoes and my mind racing a mile a minute, I turned around and looked in all directions to see if anyone else was hearing or seeing what I was. No one else was here, but me. Who would believe me? How could I explain? Then suddenly, he spoke again. This time, he asked me my name and wanted to know if we could be friends. I replied in a shaky voice, “Certainly, my name is Michael.” He then stepped off the pole and started walking straight towards me. I wanted to run, but could not move. I ordered my legs to move, but they did not listen. My body was motionless. I thought to myself, he is supposed to be frightening crows, but instead, he is frightening
