I went to my local Dollar Tree to make a menu for a family of four people. It was a little challenging to do so. My local Dollar Tree, which is located in Camden, Arkansas, do not have a frozen section like many other Dollar Tree stores. The Dollar Tree stores that has the frozen section has way more food selection then the Dollar Tree stores that do not. The frozen section different meats selection and a variation of breakfast foods.

According to the Journal of American Medical Association, roughly 80% of children with cancer in high-income countries, such as the United States, survive. 10 Block Story As the Christmas season is getting closer, the anxiety of what you’re getting for presents is growing bigger. I mean, who doesn’t want to know what they’re getting. When I was younger, one of the first things people would ask me when we met was “Where are you from?” In response, I always said, “McKeesport”, but felt contempt every time that word left my mouth because I knew my hometown was a cesspool of poverty and demoralization. Even though I still know McKeesport is a bad place to live, the feeling attached to my response to inquiries about my hometown has changed. Instead of contempt, I feel determined to enact a citywide metamorphosis. Growing up, there were two contrasts in my life.
When I was five, I created a culinary masterpiece in Norway, although it was quickly thrown away without as much as a taste. My loving parents decided to treat my older brother and me with a trip to the happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World. Being quite the princess enthusiast, I was extremely excited to meet Cinderella; my brother had bragged to all of his fifth grade buddies that he would conquer the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Rounding the final turn, we pulled through the glorious gates that read, “Welcome to Walt Disney World!” The sheer joy I felt that day has remained with me, a child-like wonder, which shall endure for the full extent of my days.
Today is the day I’m going to escape and finally leave this hell hole. My foster parents will be gone for at least twenty more minutes so I have some time. I could hear my heart beat in my ears as I shuffled through my dresser drawers and shoved clothes in a duffle bag. This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been through this. At my old foster home, every day was a battle.
Our purpose was to host a Vacation Bible School and share the love of Jesus. I was ready to make an impact on their lives, but they made a bigger impact on me. They lived in very poor conditions. Most of the children ran around with no shoes, and it was evident that hygiene was not of much importance. It was amazing to spend a week with such loving children.

However, this major success can relate to the manipulative tactics used by fast food corporations to create addiction in their customers. From persuasive advertising to price manipulation, fast food companies employ a variety of strategies to keep customers coming back for more, and capitalize on inherent addictiveness. The result of this addiction is a wide range of negative health effects that hurt customers and society as a whole.
Volunteering at McKenna Farms Therapy Services I was able to observe pediatric occupational therapy sessions. Not only did I get to observe Occupational Therapy sessions, but I observed Hippotherapy sessions too. What I found so unique about McKenna Farms is that they had Speech Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Occupational Therapist all together at one clinic. This allowed me to witness how the different types of therapy fit together and how the therapist would collaborate to find the best way to treat the children. My favorite part was finding ways to communicate with the kids.

I was the Student Director of the Teen Advisory Council, which serves as the youth executive board for the Ronald House. Throughout the entire year we planned a bowling fundraiser called, Spare Some Love. At this event we bring together families staying at the house with individuals within the community. Through gaining sponsors and raffling off donated baskets we were able to raise $28,000 for the house. I take special pride in this event because it combines multiple aspects of giving back.
