In summary, on 09/21/15 at 0418 hours I was patrolling the area of 1600 S. Laramie Ave., at which time I observed a male subject with a youthful appearance walking northbound 16th Street. I made contact with the subject, at which time he identified himself as (Rosas, Alexis DOB 04/21/97). While speaking with Rosas, I detected a strong odor of fresh cannabis emanating from his person. Rosas related he had some cannabis in his sweater pocket. I recovered a silver box containing a green leafy substance from Rosas ' right sweater pocket.
Dirt Bike Catastrophe Some four years ago on a small loop road, county road 355, hidden somewhere in the weeds was a convolution maze of dirt bike trails. It couldn’t have been but six months since my step brother, Austin and I started riding dirt bikes daily. We were nothing short of motocross eligible teenagers, jumping feet off the ground, sliding every turn, and being so dirty at the end of the day that two showers were necessary. All of these things changed very suddenly in a wreck that changed our lives.
And off we go. Our engines roaring as we take off. Aftyn and I love to race. I went to the left and was riding in a big open area while Aftyn went over to the right and was side hilling. I was just coming over a hill when the unthinkable happened.
Montreat, North Carolina is a Presbyterian Youth Conference located in Black Mountain. We meet so many new people, we exchange opinions, and we share our difficulties. We become so much closer to our youth group, which for the week is referred to as our back-home group. Montreat is such a safe place. I know I can truly be myself whether I am with my friends or with strangers.
All my life I have lived in the small town of Walkertown, which is only about twenty minutes away from Winston-Salem. Five years ago Walkertown was small and you had to go to the next town over, Kernersville, if you wanted to go shopping for clothes or go out for dinner. Now, Walkertown is a lot more developed and less rural. However, it is nowhere near as developed as Winston-Salem, especially downtown. Winston-Salem is a built up city with a lot of impervious surfaces.
After years of waiting and preparing we started on the journey to the west. We made our way to Independence, Missouri to go on the Oregon Trail which was laid by traders and trapers. While there I became familiar with George Wilson who was also a working family man. A lot of families left together making the trail busy and causing jams..
I looked out from the passenger side window as we pulled into our parking spot. The trees were beginning to go bare in the frigid October weather, and the ground was covered in their dry, crispy leaves. The four of us were going on a haunted hayride tonight, a popular past-time for season. We clambered out of the car and left our bags behind. It had rained the day before, and it made the ground beneath us soft with mud and trampled leaves.
Awakening from a wonderful dream in which she dreamed about her grandfather, Charity felt wistful. In the dream, she was still a young girl. She had discovered a set of pigments in a trunk under her grandfather’s bed. The set contained all the colors of the rainbow. Each color was rich and vibrant when mixed with linseed oil and smeared onto her hand.
My first “Bigfoot” experience, occurring during my childhood, has made an indelible impression on me throughout the years. The strange event, that made this haunting impression, occurred in the summer 1971. Living on a dead-end road in rural East Tennessee, I was eight years old when the encounter occurred. With my father working the night shift that evening, my younger siblings in bed, only my mother and I were in the den. The news broadcast had ended making the time approximately 11:30 PM.
Halloween Memoir By: Sydney It was October 31st and I was already up at 5:30 getting ready for Halloween. It was a school morning and we were going to be having our class party after gym.
I had never been very far, and I was fortunate to get out of the states of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. I didn’t go on vacation often, but if I was going to go on vacation, I was going on vacation. Vacations were supposed to be a getaway, so if a person lived in Ohio, he or she should have left the states that border Ohio, (Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.) During the summer of 2015, I did just that. This past summer my family

Country Halloween Do you remember going trick or treating on Halloween? Going from house to house with your friends, receiving all the candy you could possibly dream of? Well, I don’t. Throughout my life I’ve lived out in the middle of nowhere.
I didn 't ever want to go back on that bike again but my brother encouraged me to do it so one day I grabbed the bike and I got on it and forgot all about the fact that the training wheels were off I rode it and I didn 't fall from that day on I rode my bike and I 'd fall here and there but I kept on doing it till I didn 't anymore if I 'd never gotten the courage to
We were at the park looking down a trail that looked longer than usual. I knew it was time to learn how to balance without training wheels. I was scared, even though I knew my dad wouldn’t steer me wrong. At that moment I knew I wouldn’t mind having my training wheels on a little longer, even if the rest of my friends didn’t. But with the help of my dad I was balancing my bike in no time.
