The water droplet patterns symbolises nature thought water. I chose to include this in my portrait as water was a big part of my childhood in various ways. Every year my family would take time off and rent out a house at Sellicks Beach to be close to the water and go out boogie boarding. Recently we bought a house down there and go up as often as we can.
Water is also significant to me because every time my sister and I would go to our cousin’s house we had a clown outdoor water sprinkler and we would run around it all day having the time of our lives.

The flowers on my portrait were drawn using various outline pens, as it helped to balance with the other patterns to create a good contrast. The flower represents the beauty of nature as well …show more content…

Being Greek Orthodox I am very close to my family going to church as often as I can. It also represents my faith in the culture as several years ago my grandma was hit by a car and she states that “God was the one who got me through it” the doctors said that she would never walk again, point proven she is out and running living as an independent woman.

I have learnt to draw basic structures of the human face using the rule of house. The rule of house helped me draw myself to scale making sure everything lined up to the reality of my facial features.
I have also learnt using thick and thin outline make drawing realistic contrasting various patterns to help the portrait flow for the eyes.
I liked the contrast between the thicknesses of outlines in the patterning and around the face. As well as the patterns surrounding my face, as it made the face pop out of the paper as the main feature.

Next time I would like to darken out the outline of my eyes, as they are a dominant feature of a face and something that helps determine that it is a portrait of myself. I would have also liked to add detail to my neck, as it looks plain with only a necklace. I could have added little drawings of animals, as I am an animal
