It was hard to believe I was headed to University of Michigan to watch the Wolverines play Akron in football. It was my first time going to the Big House. Our tickets came late, we had to print off four copies to get in . We got there so early we tailgated with some students. Then went to buffalo wild wings for drinks and to use the bathroom before we went in the stadium.
After the tryout the main coach announced, "Good job everyone. We will email your parents to inform you if you made the team. We have 3 to 4 spots. " When me and my dad were driving home I asked him if he thought I made the team. "I don 't know.
It was awesome when my sister’s cheer team Synergy got first place at her cheer competition and won a trip to Orlando, Florida. Then we went to The Mall of America and went to the amusement park and road rides. Then later we went to dinner with all the girls on the cheer team at Dicks Last Resort, i would recommend going here if you're ever at The Mall of America. For the reasons above this trip to The Mall of America was totally amazing.
Look around the room ,do you see anyone who looks the same? You shouldn’t, no one is the same. The things about me are different from many other people I like to dance, I love vegetables, and I I also hate liars. The first thing you need know about be is that I’m a dancer. I am really competitive dancer. I have been competing since last year and ever since then I’ve been pushed.
I unfortunately choked up and didn’t make it on that team. Instead of giving up I choose to keep practicing. I decided to join another team outside of school to improve my skills. My new goal was to make it to my high school cheer team. My new team taught me team skills and with that we were able to win many competitions.
I was having mixed emotions; I was anxious because it would be the last time cheering with people I love, and I was afraid of messing up. I looked at my friend Landry and said, “We got this!” She looked at me and smiled. The music started and I began the routine which I had done millions of times before. After we finished our routine, the parents, the athletes, and my coaches met up so we could discuss how we thought we did.
James just moved into an apartment in the south end of town with his mom because his dad had left them. It had been a week since he moved in, and tomorrow would be the first day of school. He had mixed emotions; he was nervous because he would be the new kid at school, but he was excited because the school that he would be going to had a great football team. It had been three weeks since James started going to his new school. They just posted that football try-outs would be next Monday.
Throughout my Life and high school career I have spent many hours with teachers and coaches. I have had many experiences, but the one that stands out most to me is my former cheerleading coach and gym teacher, Ms. Traska. She coached our team with no background in cheerleading. She brought us closer as a team and being part of this team has made a difference in my life. The two years that Ms. Traska coached were the most fun, productive, and memorable years that I have been on the team.
Now I knew almost all of the coaches except the freshmen. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew we were going to come out and work hard every practice. All I wanted to do was impress the coaches. I had an advantage over all my teammates, I kinda knew what they expected.
I have been cheering for five years now. I can not remember the times when I was not a cheerleader, it is hard to imagine myself doing anything other than cheer or simply not cheering at all. I fell in love with the sport and within time, my passion towards it grew even more. Cheerleading consumed my life, it was my only focus. I was fortunate enough to grow up with coaches that pushed me to reach limits I did not even know I had, as well as teammates whom I shared the same passion towards the sport with.
Nobody would ever imagine that my first year trying out as a cheerleader I had been rejected. Although I did fail at cheer my first try, it only fueled me to try out again the following year. After weeks and
I have been cheerleading for the past 7 years, and truly love it. Ever since a young girl, I have admired the Perrysburg High School cheerleaders. Cheerleading helps me express myself, and define who I am as a person. Cheerleading has been my passion since a young girl, and I have a true love for it. Cheerleading has helped me grow as a person, and has helped me become more confident in myself.
Later that day when it was my turn to show the coaches what I could do, I really pushed myself to the best that I could possibly do. Then I went out into the gym with the rest of the people that had tried out. About 15 minutes later the coaches called us all back into the auditorium and started calling names of who had made the team and, then my name was finally called and I was super excited! After the season was over (volleyball and football) we had a big party, then everybody left when the year was over, and I started eighth grade they announced that they were having cheer tryouts I tried out and of course gave it my all and made the team
Practice that week, to get ready for the state tournament was rough. The wrestling room was hot and smelly. I really didn’t want to be there. It was just me in my taped up wrestling shoes, my sweatpants and hoodie.
On the last day of tryouts, all fifty of us were to find out what team we had made, or for the few girls, that they were getting cut
