The story takes place at the property of Terry Thompson, of which was located in Zanesville, Ohio. Terry Thompson had dozens of exotic animals on the property including tigers, lions, bears, monkeys, and more; all of which he took care of. One day after being released from prison, his neighbor got a strange feeling about Terry’s property when horses began racing and a lion was brushed up against the fence line between their properties.

Colorado is an incredible state with astronomically panoramic that views that some people believe are the most beautiful sights in the world, cascading over the entire region. It became a state on August 1, 1876, and since then this region has been through a lot over the years and some of these scenes have not always been beautiful. Unfortunately there have been some not so pleasant sights. One of these horrific sights would include the Sand Creek Massacre.

Many years ago, my cousins great grandparents were on the way to the Blue Ridge Mountains to travel. They left the train and peered up and saw the conductor. They waved to him and he waved back. The conductor followed them to their car. He took them and he threw them onto the tracks .
The topic I have chosen for my argumentative essay is “The Highway of Tears Murders.” This topic stood out to me from all of the others because I like stories like this. The Investigation Discovery channel and shows like, “Law and Order,” show stories like these of unsolved murders and cases that can take up to years to solve. I have never heard of this case before I saw it on the research topic list. I did a little overview of what the case is about and why it has not yet been solved.
Well...I was 6 when Child Protective Services came to get us. I lived with my mom and my three sisters, the youngest was Donna she was 5 & Lizzy was 7 and Mary was 10. I remember most of my family lived in the same neighborhood like my two Aunts and my uncle and grandpa and grandma. There was an occasional gunshot, sometimes there was a fire truck rushing down our street . We lived on top of a hill at 1015 Norwich in Grand Rapids.
The book mentions that once one has been acquainted with violence, “[they] acquire companions that never leave [them] entirely: Suspicion, Fear, Anxiety, Despair, Joylessness.” Violence is a force that leaves nothing but negative affects in it’s wake. Victims of violence live in constant suspicion of others and are paranoid of their surroundings. This suspicion gives way to fear, which which leaves them even more afraid of other people harming them. Fear and suspicion give way to anxiety through always being stressed.
Ever since I was a child, I had these urges that I felt I had no control over. These urges of killing began around the time I was 13. I began finding roadkill and dissecting them to explore my curiosity, and this led to much more. I tried to avoid these urges by drinking heavily, even during school, but this couldn't hide these fantasies completely. I was different than all the other kids in my school, so I didn’t have many friends.
After completing the gang assessment, I have found that there is no significant gang problems for my school, however it could still potentially be at risk. I am rarely ever on campus since I take most of my classes online, but I can’t recall seeing any graffiti on Boise State University campus. Either the staff does a really great job of keeping the grounds clean, or there are no gangs that hang out on Boise State campus. I also cannot recall ever seeing hand signs, or anyone wearing what might be considered “gang colors” or jewelry that is gang-related. Boise State does seem to have a bit of a truancy problem though, along with a very low overall graduation rate.
