Don’t make mistakes like one class did in the past, don’t repeat their story.”A quote taken from a personal narrative I wrote when I was 15 about my third grade class. When I was younger I was constantly worried over. I was a child who would not willingly speak to others, who would hide in inconspicuous places to avoid them; a very reserved child that created concern in the minds of my parents who recently came to America from Pakistan. I was slowly changing as I grew up. Being able to solve a math problem was like solving a puzzle. Learning about ancient history was as exciting as reading a fictional novel. Writing gave me power that I didn’t have before, it gave me a voice. With that new voice, I started making my first few friends in school. However, friends don’t always last. By the time I was in middle school, my elementary school friends were no longer by my side; they had all gone to different schools. I made new friends with my awkward social skills, but in high school I was left alone once more. This time it was because those friends of mine had changed into people who no longer understood me and didn’t want to associate with me. It seems like a normal thing to happen at that age but since I had made them, with much difficulty, it left an empty feeling when they decided to leave. Constantly being left behind made me lose trust in people even more. Constantly being disappointed by people, made me lose hope in anyone understanding me. So in turn, I took up writing. I wrote scenarios and characters that I could relate with, situations I never wanted to be in and situations I had found myself in years
