Personal Narrative: What We Is In Front Of Us

I chose this quote because it seemed like the truth to me. To me the author of the quote is trying to convey a deep truth that people do not want to see so they just push it away like it didn’t matter. When we go outside we discover our true selves and we actually conversate with people. Phones and electronics distract us from the people who are in front of us and who care about us. It also makes it to where we can’t see the mass destruction that we have had on our world. All we see is the little screen that is in front of our faces. In a sense we are tuning out the world but we are tuning in to the screens that in front of us. We don’t realize what we have until we lose it. This is like saying we have earth but we use and abuse it and when we do lose it we will come to our senses. To me this part remind me of when i go outside and go on a walk with my family and we actually talk and are aware of what is happening around us. For example when teenagers walk they are looking down at their phones and they get hit by a car or kidnapped because they weren’t paying attention to their surroundings or they on a walk through nature and they don’t realize how much trash there is around them. Since the teen did not see the trash there is some poor animal that is slowly dying because the teen was to busy on their phone playing and texting their friends. That sense of common sense was blocked because of a tiny little screen was blocking it. So to me the author said or wrote this quote because he wanted the truth of everyone to come out.
