Personal Narrative: Why I Go To Mexico

There’s just something about Mexico that is so captivating. I don’t know whether its the food or the people or the overall environment. It is not always easy for me to say that, though. Why? Well, I usually go to Mexico once a year to this small village by the name of Bolanos, Jalisco. It is five hours away from the city Guadalajara, Jalisco so as you can imagine or maybe can’t, there’s not much to do. My parents grew up in Bolanos and we have family members to visit. I obviously want to see them, but I also want to stay where I’m accustomed, my home and the comfort it provides. I don’t really remember what I use to do in our visits when I was younger and I can vaguely remember what I did in the past 3 years. This year was different though. On June 6th, my mom, sister, and I took a plane early in the morning to our destination. My mom wanted to take advantage of summer break to be there for a while. From playing dominos with my grandpa daily to going out for dinner with my cousins, it was all fun. One of the first nights, 3 of my cousins, my sister and I went out for dinner, and went to the town square (they have free wifi!). My cousins decided to show us this video: Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise. We started laughing instantly mainly because my cousins knew the lyrics to the song in the video, it was gold! We definitely laughed for a good ten minutes. I realized then that moments like those are the ones you need in life. From there on, I enjoyed all the moments in my visit to Mexico. From dying of laughter for different moments to accompanying my cousin to his graduation celebration.
