My goal for module 4 is to make adjustments to my diet to include certain healthy foods that are missing from my diet. My nutrition report informed me that my diet did not include enough of certain vegetables, including red and orange vegetables, as well as beans and peas. Also, I learned that the amount of dietary fiber I am consuming in my diet doesn’t meet the recommended amount. In order to address the problem I have with my diet not being balanced, I plan to track what I eat every week and to continue to make changes to what I consume until I am maintaining a healthy, balanced diet. Balancing my diet to receive the vitamins and nutrients my body needs will help improve my Adenosine Triphosphate, Anaerobic, and Aerobic energy systems, which will assist me in reaching my long term goal of increasing my cardiovascular fitness. One way I intend to do to balance my diet is to plan my meals for the week in advance instead of deciding what to consume on a day to day bases. By doing this, I can better analyze what I plan to eat, and make sure that I am consuming adequate amounts of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes and lean proteins.
