My book The Walk is about Alex Myers, a student athlete who tries to take on the sport establishment in his new hometown . His name was Alex. Alex was 6’1 ft tall and had one other sibling and that was his younger sister.. When he was little his dad had always knew he had a arm. He told Alex mom “ Babe I think you done something great. Alex had play Baseball and basketball, but he was better at football then those 2 sports and like football more anyways. When Alex was in middle school that’s when his life and his parents marriage start to go down hill. It all started when Alex dad started spending less and more less time with the family and more time with his work. So, Alex dad didnt really show up to many of Alex football games. During the time when he was trying out for the varsity teams, he gets the nickname golden arm. He also learns that he has better arm and arm accuracy and better overall then Matt the starting quarterback. During tryout Alex quickly becomes friends with another new kid, the amazing freshman wide receiver Jonas, who can already run a 4.5 40-yard dash. Although Jonas is a star, Alex is not only relegated to the bench, but is even a third string QB.Them to become close friends. Jonas play wide receiver and was by far better than anyone at tryouts. When the varsity teams was announced Alex was scared he wasn't going to make it because of matt and the backup quarterback behind him. Alex went into the locker with Jonas to see if they made the varsity team and they both ended up did making varsity. During practice Alex didn't get many reps because he was the third string quarterback and when he did get in for scout offense he tried to show the coaches he had a strong arm and that would get him in trouble. Before Alex got hurt he didn't have many friends besides his teammates, he was like that invisible kid at school.. When he was hurt he wasn't that invisible kid anymore. People started talking to him who usually did not and he also got invited to the most popular girl party. When Alex was hurt he was got to have a interview with this girl named Christine Whitford she was a reporter for the school newspaper. He quickly starts to fall for her. The newspaper likes to start trouble, the writes likes to say things that aren’t true about the head coach. This is a bad thing because theeditor of the stories is the offensive coordinator. Alex gets a chance to start when Matt gets hurt and the 2nd string quarterback acts likes he's hurt so that Alex can get a chance to play. He wins some games for them, but goes back to 3rd string once Matt is ready to play again. The team season is going good they make the playoffs, but teams start to recognize the plays that Matt and and the coach runs so he gives Alex another shot, at the end of games when it's a close one. He pulls through and leads them to wins. After that Alex doesn't see the point and trying to be the start quarterback anymore.
