Looking back into memory lane, my decision of choosing a career in medicine seems to me the most prudent decision of my life. Admiration for those who devote their lives to helping the ill is what drove me toward this profession, but after entering medical school my passion for medicine took a new turn. The ocean of knowledge that is medicine captivated me. My curiosity seemed to grow deeper with every passing day. I found that the ever-changing nature of the field only made it more exciting to be a part of such a dynamic profession that kept me engaged continuously.
My journey through medical school developed my intellect as well my personal attributes. I have rotated in variety of clinical specialties, these rotations helped me shape my future and find my passion with the variety of specialties. I remember every time I had a pediatric rotation it ignites my passion for medicine, the combination of my love for medicine and for children made pediatric best fit for me. The externship I did in pediatrics in United States further helped me see the field more closely, it was a splendid experience being working in the healthcare system that is considered the gold standard for healthcare worldwide. Along with it, I have a strong passion for preventive care and I was involved in counselling the parents about vaccination and hygienic measures during my medical school pediatric rotation.
