Describe yourself as a student and also your aspirations for the future. Please include examples from your personal academic and non-academic experiences. I am an international student from St. Petersburg, Russia, and for the past two and a half years I’ve attended Westminster School in Connecticut as a boarder. Life away from home combined with the constant academic atmosphere around me taught me how to become more independent, dedicated and diligent. As a student, I try to be on top of my assignments and assessments all the time. To me, while on school time, nothing is more relevant than academics. I am always prepared for my lessons and eager to participate in class, after all, the work I do will only benefit me later on. During my life, my parents have taken me to more places in the world than I could ever wish to visit. After seeing this vast diversity of our world, I decided that I must learn more about different cultures and possible find connections with the Russian culture. With my love for traveling came my unconditional admiration for learning languages. I grew up being fluent in both Russian and English, but that was never enough for me. After I have seen much of the world, I began learning French and Spanish with hope to broaden my knowledge of the different cultures. At school, I have completed the AP French Language and Culture curriculum during my sophomore year and currently, as a junior, I am working towards finishing the AP Spanish Language and Culture course. With this vast experience in both traveling and exploring different cultures I am able to share it with my community. At Westminster, I am the head and creator of the Spanish Lab and the French Club.
