Explain your interest in Engineering and what experience you have with engineering?
Making the decision to pursue engineering when I was in high school was an easy decision for me. I had three requirements: I want to grow and learn while working, I want to impact my community and possibly more, and I want to be challenged. Engineering fit all of those requirements for me. As an engineer, you have the ability to enhance the world’s quality of life and possibly be the spark that launches the world into the next Industrial Revolution. Before transferring to UGA, I was a full-time student at Perimeter College while working full-time as a sales floor team member in the grocery department at Target for 2 years. During that time, I became an employee that my managers could rely on for anything and I was eventually put in charge of a small team of employees that set up the ad signs all around the store. Being chosen will only push me further towards my engineering degree. Getting my degree, I can then apply the knowledge, talents, work experience, and ideas to my future job. I will be able to continuously learn and contribute to the growth of the company and possibly the world. Over 100 years ago traveling from Georgia to California entailed a hazardous journey that took months to accomplish. It took weeks to send a letter from coast to coast. Today, through engineering, we have been able to create a world where a flight from Georgia to California takes a maximum of 7 hours as well as a world that has one-day shipping. If accepted to the College of Engineering, I see myself employed by the CDC, solving problems, and growing as a person. If given the opportunity, I will be able to fulfill my dream and prove that I have what it takes to not only be a successful student but an outstanding
