I am passionate about traveling the world and seeking experiences, and I see business as a way to achieve this. It is both a practical and real way in which to relate to, understand and adapt to the world.
I believe two major aspects of being part of the business world consist of critical thinking and problem solving. These are two qualities I have learnt through various activities including the Duke of Edinburgh award, helping organise a blue cross charity fashion show, and two Blissfields christmas parties (local festival - winner of best small festival 2014.) This has put me in the position of understanding planning, creative thinking and the pressure of having to make decisions in a fast paced environment. I find this can stimulate me to ask more and more questions, about how we can change the economy for the greater good, and the real consequences of economics. I leave a lesson, with more questions, prompting further reading of lots of different articles in the field. I came across one about CEO Succession within a firm. I began to make a plan in my head of how I would deal with the different problems I would face, such as the changes within the market and technology, and how I would look into the future thinking about time and resources. I came up with ideas, like developing a future generation of CEO's which would benefit through stability. This would mean there would be no disruption within the company, alongside it being profitable. Reading this article and getting excited about how I wanted to develop business plans, and the idea of leadership made me realise I wanted to be part of the business world, especially entrepreneurship. Reading '23 things they don't tell you about capitalism' has also made me realise we are not as in control of the economy as we would like to think we are.
